The only weapons you can "earn" in Destiny are pre set quests exotics where the outcome of fulfillment ist the weapon you know you will find/get in the end. Otherwise, it was pure luck that that weapon dropped when it did. There were many y1 players with 100+ raids that never got the Gally, even tho they did the same thing that first time raiders did when their Gally dropped.
