You really don't earn it because it is luck based you were lucky to get the engram that gave you the supercell and lucky that it was primary and lucky that out of the other primaries you are luck that it gave you the supercell the weapons you earn are like the chaperone and the black spindle those are weapons you earn you were just lucky that you got that random drop even if it was also from a nightfall you were still lucky

The only difference is instead of someone wasting their time with 3oc they bought a 280 supercell. The only exotics you can "earn" are the exotic quest ones. You didn't earn your supercell you just killed an ultra, (which anyone can do with a 3oc active) and got lucky with your supercell. I've had my supercell since week1 and tbh it's not worth the exotic slot most of the time. Only on arc burns or a bunch of red bar enemies

Using 3 of coins and farming strikes is no different from buying it from Xur. With 3oC there is no earning anymore, not that here ever was. It's all RNG
