Christmas technically has pagan roots. A lot of it is based around the Winter Solstice. Christianity just pushed it so hard to convert pagans.

Technicalities aren't exactly going to cut it though when the vast majority think it's roots are different

Honestly, I don't want it to be an obvious holiday. Just a winter festival celebrating the spirit of giving. Then it just becomes all-encompassing for all the holidays everyone wants.

Have you seen other holiday festivals in other games? Take WoW for example it has no relation to any religion.
