Night was falling, darkness calling,
Horrid whispers slip out, appalling.
Disembodied, relentless speaking.
Barely audible, but never ceasing.
This wasn't the night I knew before.
Moonlight waning, clouds persuading
The light into cessation, then abating.
Violent winds, rain and storm unending,
An ill omen were the heavens sending.
This isn't the night I knew before.
Storm breaking, clouds dissipating,
Moonlight returning and yet fading.
Voices dying, whispers flying,
The sun in the East newly rising.
That wasn't the night I knew before.
It's late, can't sleep, mind busy. Felt like writing and this was the result.
