There are 1.6 billion muslims. Its also the fastest growing religion in the world. Now if 1% are extremists, tgeres 16 000 000 of them. If 20% are supporting them, thats 320 000 000. And that number is growing. If that number doesnt scare you, how about this. Tgeres 2.7 million muslims in america. That means 27 000 terrorists in america. Ut also means 540 000 supporters. In the US alone.

Firstly you can't assume that 1% equates to 1% within every population.. it doesn't work like that which I suspect you know! From what I understand that 1% pretty much includes any country which is considered to be an enemy of the west, such as Iran.. I don't think all Iranians are quite ready to call themselves terrorists quite yet.. also from recent studies that support is more like 7%.. and support doesn't automatically equate taking action.. I support gay marriage but I'm planning on becoming gay due to that support! I'm not suggesting there isn't an issue.. I'm not suggesting there aren't Muslims in the US and every other western country ready to commit some form of terrorist act - I am saying your numbers are wildly over the top & are the sort of scaremongering nonsense that Trump would spout!

All I'm trying to say is while 1% isnt the majority of muslims, if you add the supporters and people who agree with their views, even if they don't indulge, its a very large number of people. I agree its far from the majority of muslims, but theres a reason that that high percentage of muslims are classified as terrorists or extremists. Theirs is not a religion of peace.
-
If by 'theirs' you mean specifically those Muslims who choose to interpret Islam to suit their own agenda then I'd agree, for them Islam isn't a religion of peace. For the vast majority of Muslims however Islam is very much a religion of peace.. even if it is a religion which by it's very nature a stupid and pointless waste of time to commit any part of your life too.. along with every other religion! :-D

Islam is a religion if hatred, intolerance, and oppression. If every muslim follwed their Koran word for word there would be many more extremists out there. Since most thankfully don't they don't hate as much as the fully devout. Im also an athiest but why do you feel the need to call religion a waste of time? Why can't we respect religuous beliefs?

Edited by Holymonkey: 10/30/2015 3:47:01 PMLet me get this straight.. you're respecting religious beliefs by saying that Islam is a religion of 'hatred, intolerance, and oppression'? I think just 'Wow' could suffice there.. whilst you ponder on how those two statements are a little bit of a contradiction I suggest you do some actual research instead of listening to whatever far right, neo naz! scum that's telling you such utter rubbish. Whilst we're on that subject maybe you should check out the bible and ask what would happen if every christian followed the bible word for word.. slaves? yes. Beards? You better have one.. selling your underage daughter for marriage? Yep that's all good. Shellfish? Don't even think of touching that vile stuff!

I respect peoples right to believe. I would never go up to a muslim, christian, jewish, et man and tell him that his religion is a waste of time or a fairy tale like others in this thread are doing. As for the Bible and the Koran, does the bible call the Jewish people pigs? Does it call for the death of any and all unbelievers? I have no respect for a culture and religion that stones women for being unfaithful, or follows any tenant of shariah law. Its barbaric. However everyone has a right to belive in whatever they want. Even if its a flying spaghetti monster. Im bashing the parts of Islam because it advocates hatred and intolerance, and im bashing those who follow those parts. Peacuful non radical muslims who don't follow shariah law and are somewhat civilized I have the utmost respect for
