I will give you a good reason
Here in the U.S., everything from stores, restaurants, and public areas get festive during the holiday season. You will pretty much see a Christmas tree or wreath everywhere you go. Hell, even certain radio stations will play Christmas music 24/7
That being said, Bungie is an American company. If they added trees, lights, and snow in the tower, it'd be more like showing American culture. In no way should anybody be offended by the fact that most people in the U.S celebrate Christmas, christian or not
And Bungie wouldn't be the first to do this either. Look at WoW, every December the game world is filled with presents, snow, reindeer, lights, and trees. Even Santa Claus comes by to give players presents if you give him cookies and milk. Is it offensive? No, it isn't. I commend Blizzard for doing it
Now obviously Bungie shouldn't go calling it a Christmas celebration, but to celebrate the holiday season as a whole is something a vast majority of us really want. There's no reason for anybody to be butthurt about what is done in a video game anyway
Edit: Canadians have alot of the same culture too, sorry to have forgotten you guys :)
