Biggest reason is ignorance. Christmas is a holiday. Ramadan is just a month in the Islamic calender. Eid-ul-Fitr is the celebration after the month of fasting is over.
Also Christmas is celebrated around the world secullarly(non-religious) as well.
It's just safer to avoid religious holidays.
