I'm writting this small wall of text in order to suggest, or better yet, request Bungie to give a chance to all the players who put hours and hours of time and are constantly playing Destiny but who don't want to spend money just so that they can get a chance of getting the elusive Skull Mask.
Even though there's this argument going on that "this is just an aesthetical item that doesn't affect gameplay", i feel the need to point out something beforehand. On similar types of games as Destiny, when there's this very rare item that everybody is trying to get, normally there's two options given to you: The first one rewards all those hardworking and determined enough players that manage to complete a set of very difficult tasks with the said item, while the second one involves spending money on microtransactions to get the item and are meant for those who can't be bothered to waste time (or simply don't have any) but still want to make sure they get it.
Now, in the case of the Skull Mask, Destiny gives us only the second option that i mentioned, making it impossible to acquire the item through normal gameplay without spending money or on the very rare cases that it comes out with the free Treasures of the Lost pack we are given. Not only that but, to those who pay (and like i already mentioned up there), it's also not guaranteed that they will get said item when buying a pack of the Treasures of the Lost which me and many others find rather unfair...
So, my suggestion (which i hope that is shared with many other fans) is the following: in other to truly reward players that want to work hard for it, how about if you guys made a quest in which it would be required for a player to have all of the other 16 masks and only then you would finally be able to get the Skull Mask?
I think that this way many fans such as myself would be pleased knowing that we still have a chance in getting it without ending up with an empty wallet and, since getting all the other masks still involve a lot of luck and time put on it, it would avoid the problem of this item becoming too common or easy to get between players .
Feel free to use this suggestion in any other events such as this one that you guys might do in the future (for example, on Christmas)!
With that, i thank you guys for the attention given to all your fans and hope that you see this as a helpful tip.
Best regards,
A Concerned Fan.
P.S.: You should also consider giving out something else after having completed one of the existing quests like paper glue instead of another Gifts of the Lost with more rare masks that we probably already have and that will disappear in the end of the Festival of the Lost either way.

I second this.
