Well if you have 3 characters you have a chance at getting a drop on another character. So if nothing drops on your first try, you still have 2 more tries.

I don't have 3 characters ready for hard raid as I've got limited time on my hands. The only point of doing the raid is loot. Crucible is a lot more fun so don't say "Oh, do it for enjoyment!" And how can you defend there being a chance of not getting any drops?

If drops were guaranteed then everyone would have all raid gear/weapons probably within 3 weeks and then there would be no reason to raid anymore. I do think that the drop rates should be increased though.

So therefore, you still have an incentive to run the raid as you would try to get full 320 gear and weapons.

Not to mention getting the perks you want. different weapon type reload speeds on gauntlets, different ammo / armor / recovery increases on chest / boots.
