Nope, not wrong; I just think we're looking for different things in a game.
To me Destiny is a game you move into and live for a long time. Halo is more like a vacation, but you know you're going to go home at the end. Also I like getting loot and trying out a wide variety of weapons and gear with different perks. I don't get that from Halo.
The idea of grinding for rank sounds incredibly tedious and boring to me. But it sounds like it works for you. If so, that's great, enjoy your game. But I don't think Halo is going to scratch the itch, long term, for people who've spent a lot of time in Destiny because they reward different things.
If you like Halo's PVP, then maybe that's where your longevity will be. But for me, once I get through the campaign, I'm pretty much done. I don't think I can run it again and hope for different loot. That's where running the same missions over is a surprising strength for Destiny. I think that the longevity for me is in Destiny. Had Destiny been more like Halo, I doubt we'd still be playing it and talking about it.
So maybe I was wrong for you, but not for me.
