Played Halo last night. Have to say I'm not worried for Destiny based on that experience. I'll maybe spend about a week or so on the solo campaign, but only if I get hooked, which hasn't happened yet.
I think another aspect of it is that Halo doesn't really seem like a loot and acquire game. I know there are things you can get, but it's worse than the last round of IB, which was bad IMO. Halo is more communistic in that you don't really own weapons. You use yours until you run out of ammo, then kill someone/thing and then use theirs. A little like the start of Enemy at the Gates.
