Either the Earthbound (aka Mother) trilogy or Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross duo. Never played Chrono Cross but have played the entire Earthbound series on an emulator and my cousin actually owns a working cartridge of the second one while I myself have a cart of Chrono Trigger still in my collection.
