A lot of you are neglecting the OP's point. Bungie said specifically that the objects sold would only be cosmetic. Regardless of the crap in your bank or any other flawed diagnosis, the point is still that the objects are not cosmetic, but rather they are consumable. The slippery slope is right in front of us, prepare for the long drop.
