Pay-to-win has come to "Destiny". As part of the Festival of the Lost, players can use silver to purchase Treasures of the Lost. This random package could include items that speed up weapons upgrades and glimmer farming. So, remember when Bungie said silver would only be used for cosmetic items? Well, they aren't.
Micro-transactions are a slippery slope. The community needs to keep Bungie from going down that slope. Make your voices hear. Raise a ruckus. Let the Bungie faithful assail your revulsion of micro-transactions and pay-to-win. Let them see your resolve. Until Bungie relents and goes back to making "Destiny" the game it should be, we hold the line.
Edit: From Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3qax5y/destiny_halloween_event_festival_of_the_lost/
These aren't cosmetic items only. They include consumables.
Edit: Keep responding. "STFO, "Never go full . . .", "You're an idot". It's all there already. Every reply bumps this post and keeps the pressure on Bungie to avoid going pay-to-win. And yes, I know some Guardians would love it if "Destiny" went pay-to-win and they could just buy a Gjallarhorn 3.0, but that's not the game I bought.

I remember they explicitly stated that consumables were data mined items that were supposed to be from in game content and was removed. They also straight up said these things wouldn't be available for cash.
-
You are so -blam!-ed when trials comes around. Gonna beat you down with all this glimmer I got from those consumables. Credit card warriors unite

Ill just leave this here for you all you tinfoil nutjobs. http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/weirdalfoil_2322.jpg

I'll freak when those are still here next month. One month of the year won't kill me. Besides, those are things I never want anyway

Edited by VisualHawk: 10/26/2015 10:59:41 PMWell I don't necessarily agree with all the bungie hating ect... Or any for that matter. And I don't really worry about dlc's being worth $60 cause a lot of other franchises and games charge just as much if not more. But I do agree that these micro transactions can be a slippery slope and it's not guaranteed at all but there is always that chance that it may become more and more intrusive in time and it doesn't worry me but it does have me thinking about it now.

HA!!! Us rich people have ruined your destiny experience! You must waste your PRECIOUS, UNATTAINABLE motes of light. I can just use the money I get from work. Hahahahahhahahahahahajahah you are all FOOOOOLLLLLSSSS!!!!!! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!

Someone bump for later

I must say the grind of destiny to lvl up even armor is a b*tch. I have to friggin lvl up my gauntlets with different reload perks. Not only to lvl up the light on them too. It's artificial b's. If we get a gun or armor it should just work with all perks ready.

Yeah OMG! A slight boost until November 9th! BUNGIE IS GOING PAY TO WIN PEOPLE!
-
Facepalm*
-
Oh great. Another idiot.
-
Another stupid thing you people don't even think about is this! THE CONSUMABLES YOU ARE FREAKING OUT ABOUT ONLY LAST UNTIL THE END OF THE FESTIVAL! NO PAYING FOR LIGHT INCREASE! NO PAY TO WIN! STFU! LEAVE!
-
If the drops affected the experience of other guardians i would consider it bad, but theyre literally masks for show, and consumables for new gear. It's an event for low level guardians to get boosted in a safe/fun way, or to liven up the end gamers' experiences. Please don't spoil my candy early with your nonsense critique to the only event that caters to both PvE & PvP camps, people who buy silver or don't and it's for pure FUN. Spooky Chadorable summons all zombies to praise Bungie~

So they give out a dressed up black wax idol that most people have loads of anyway big deal
-
They're irrelevant really... Who doesn't nearly always have that max stack of 25k glimmer? And most people have hundreds of resupply codes/blue pholyphages etc, just sitting there because they aren't needed. I don't ever want it to be 'pay to win' but you're being ridiculous and a bit over the top. It's bloody glimmer!! Glimmer is literally worthless to me anyway I just don't get why it's such a big deal...?
-
I told myself I wouldn't pay for any of the micro-transactions when they were released so that Bungie would get the idea that no one wants that. But then the flaming skull was a thing. I've already spent way too much money trying to get the damn thing
-
Omg more glimmer! You win the game. Cause glimmer gets you OP gear!
-
*smacks you in the back of the head with a ruler* go to the principal's office
-
We already have consumables that do the same things as these. Your point is invalid
-
I will laugh in your face as I buy more things

This is the end for destiny .. it hurts saying that after 1600 hours . Rip destiny
