LOL "intended" method. Riiiight. So lets get this straight, by your logic in a life or death battle on a cliff it's OK to shoot your enemy, but pushing him off the cliff is a sin because it's supposed to be a gun fight. Here I thought it was all about using any means at your disposal to destroy your enemy (without resorting to cheating such as lag switches and the like, we can leave that crap for the PvPers) All you purists that get your panties twisted because someone 'breaks' your precious game make me giggle, it's just a game kids.

  • The fact that bungie fixed these gimmicks means they weren't intended. So yeah it was cheating. In a life or death battle, I'd shoot whoever it is then throw them off the cliff. However as you say, this is just a game. All I'm saying is stop living behind your convenient lie that "cheesing" is somehow different from cheating.

  • LMAO, you mean the fact that Bungie responded to an outcry by butthurt elitists because their precious raid was being beaten by mere casuals, meanwhile there are truly problematic glitches with that same raid that STILL haven't been fixed. Cheating means not playing by the established rules, in this case cheesing is simply using the established rules to your advantage DESPITE the fact that there are some that believe there is a black and white linear path to all goals and deviating from said path makes you a lesser person. In short thinking outside the box just doesn't come naturally to some, I feel sorry them.

  • Exploiting a bug is different than using a different strategy. Vog and kings fall are two very different things. In vog you could exploit a bug that let you use grenades to knock what was the hardest boss in the game off a ledge. That is cheating plain and simple. In Kings fall there are different ways to kill oryx. None of them involve exploiting a bug though.

  • LOL it wasn't a bug, if you or I fall off a cliff we die, it's also normal to avoid damage ie. move away from a grenade, exploiting these facts is not a bug nor is it cheating. Using a lag switch to get the upper hand in crucible is cheating, glitching under the warsat so that you can't take damage is cheating, but convincing the big guy to try cliff diving, that's just outsmarting the A.I.

  • If it wasn't a bug, why did it get fixed? Look it's ok to be a cheater. Just embrace it and move on. I don't care if you cheated or if you still do cheat. Just stop sugar coating it and call it what it is. Everyone who knocked those bosses off cheated. Every sun breaker who exploited hammer of sol cheated Every nightstalker who exploited shadowshot cheated Every raid team who had players jump to the top of the tower in crotas end at the totems cheated Everyone who ever used or uses a lag switch cheated Everyone who made crota stay down on his first kneel cheated Stop with the bullshit if you cheat just say you cheat and have done with it. If you are breaking a rule doing something to gain an unfair advantage that is cheating.

  • LMAO seriously, words have meanings, we don't get to redefine them just so that our worldview makes sense. In this one case no rules were broken. Bungie simply wasn't as smart as the entirety of the gaming community and didn't foresee one possible strategy to make a boss fight easier. Call it an exploit if you want but since everyone still had the same rules regardless of their choice to exploit or not, no unfair advantage was achieved. For game balance changes were made, but that does NOT mean it was a bug or a glitch. It's a semantic issue at best, especially since the issue has been resolved for the better part of a year, but hey if you want to beat a dead horse I've got time to kill until the rest of the clan (Homage to Fromage) logs in. And yes the clan name was created because of this very topic. Viva La Queso!
