We have most of the math done for FTL what we lack are the tech and resources and navigation capabilities (we still cant see a lot of debris out there and chart all of that stuffs movement in real time)
At moment to get the ball rolling we just need the helium 3 isotope in high abundance. Once we have that within 20 years we should have interplanetary capable FTL jump drives. Still long way navigation wise from being able to go system to system though.
