First off, I want to state that I've played Destiny since the beta and I'm the founder of a Destiny clan composed of about 260 members. I'm not the casual player that complains about everything.. but I need to make this point across because I've invested a lot of time into this game and I don't want to see it fail.
Destiny is being driven into the ground. With the announcement of no elemental primaries, that alone killed my motivation to stop the endless grind. However, that isn't the only issue. Raid drops are completely unfair and almost pointless.
For me and a lot of other players, elemental weapons were earned so that other activities such as Nightfalls would be easier. It's been a standard since Year 1 and to remove it now is almost a slap in the face. Having a wide variety of weapons to play from instead of just a few raid weapons is completely understandable but there has to be a median.
Raid loot drops on the other hand is HUGE issue. Not only are the drops random, but having the level of that gear being random as well is terrible system. You can't have a team doing the same amount of work and have one guy get 320 boots, have another get the same boots but 311 and have that poor unfortunate guy get 2 shards. Not only does this create demotivation and saltiness, it creates elitism in the forums. You see it even now, "Must be 315+, etc". After playing Hard Mode yesterday, I understand why that might be the case but having everything depend completely on RNG is a huge mistake.
Here are my two ideas for fixing these issues:
1) If there are no more raid elemental primaries, then have raid bosses drop a new "burn" consumable that lets you infuse an elemental burn into any legendary weapon. Boom, you get your wide variety of weapons but they still have to work for that consumable.
2) Have all raid gear from normal drop at 310 and all raid gear from hard drop at 320. Take moldering shards out of the table entirely.
Voicing my opinions and a lot of others from my clan/forums, we didn't want you guys to extend this game to a slow grind. That's not fun and it will start driving players away from this game. If you agree, please give this a bump so that it can be seen.

Completely agree but let's be honest, they did it on purpose, they knew it would create a divide. I'm just going to do what I want and complete the Raid when the next set of vendor gear outclasses that of the Raid just so I can get the ships shaders and emblems
-
Seriously. The raid drops. It's week 1 of hard mode. Week 1. What is wrong with you people? It's so unfair that the guy I was raiding with got Gjallerhorn. It's so unfair that I don't have Fatebringer....Hawkmoon....Necrochasm... It sucks that I don't have an elemental primary so I can complete the Nightfall in 3 minutes on each character or solo Crota in 25 minutes. If only I had got better loot, then I could make my own post of must be 313+ light cause that's the light of my highest character. Then after I get carried through the raid, I can make a post of must be 316+ light cause that's the light of my highest character......

Wrong
-
I completely agree with you it just isn't fair, I know it was like this before however it is worse now
-
You've been playing since beta and you're just now realizing that RNG isn't fair? LMAO I guess you never did VoG or Crota either by the sound of it. Welcome to Destiny Mr. Beta player.

Edited by RegardedSkate4: 10/27/2015 8:14:48 AMWhy worry about elitist post on LFG sites when you started a clan that has 260 members? Hard mode out for 5 days and you're complaining? I know it sucks when everything you mentioned happens, but I don't think Bungie will be too concerned with the salt level amongst fireteams. Good luck to ya this week if you're still hangin in
-
What about early wow 40 man raid 5 items drop and there were no complaints just kids these days need to be spoon fed
-
Day 1 player here and I agree 100% with this guy. My team is playing Kings Fall blind in order to bring back some of the fun which Bungie stole from the game, but it is insulting when you get a drop that is less than what gear you currently have, and therefore, the gear is not useful for any purpose (infusion or otherwise). This needs to stop. Make raid gear drop at 310 in normal and 320 in hard and let that be the end of it. I would also agree with the elemental infusion items for primaries. The fact that this isn't in the game NOW after we had elemental primaries in year 1 is a head scratcher, and smells of incompetence or malfeasance on the part of the Dev's who came up with this idea. By the way, how can Dev's at Bungie say with a straight face that they want to create MORE variety in the game when they limit our options of gear we can wear to reach max light level in Year 2? That's right- They think they will create MORE variety in loadouts, character armor choices, etc., by limiting us to Year 2 gear (and making Year 1 gear irrelevant). You do not create MORE variety by giving us LESS options. That's what I like to call "Marxist Math." It doesn't hold water. Now, give us back our Year 1 gear! And Return the G-horn and Icebreaker to their former glory! There are other good options now, and I can tell you now, it would be better to have a team with mixed heavies (G-Horns, Sleepers, and Exotic Swords) than to have a full team of just G-horn; especially now that rocket damage is tweaked to be better at crowd control than single target annihilation.
-
Thats why I don't play Destiny much anymore. Bungie got too greedy and in the end their greed destroyed their reputation as a company. Bungie used to be held in the same high esteem as developers like Valve, DICE, or Bethesda. Nowadays Bungie have one of the worst reputations out there. I'm still trying to figure out how Bungie were able to ruin their reputation so fast.
-
At the very least take the ability to get x2 shards off the loot table. I'd be fine with x1 shard and an actual chance to get a higher light piece of gear.
-
That's a really cool idea for the elemental burn. I could totally see that being a thing. Bump for bungie.
-
-
What this guy said. PAY ATTENTION BUNGIE!!!
-
Owell halo 5 tomorrow
-
I agree. That no elemental primary thing contributed to me getting halo 5. I just dont care anymore. The raid drops are making angry as -blam!- at bungie and my friends! I jump on my buddy says inspect me and he has 320 Sniper, MG, boots, and cloak. He didnt even beat oryx and he already is stacked. I do the same and i get 314 sniper, 307 rocket, 304 bond, 302 gloves and you guessed it plenty of shards.
-
I was able to hit 309 in normal on my hunter but mostly from infusing gear highest actual drop I got was like 308 cloak and ghost so do I feel like grinding hard mode for a few more months hoping I get drops not really. Just gonna wait it out till fallout 4 comes out then the division. Just don't have the patience to search for raid groups every week and hope we can make is past the first boss that is if groups will take me since everyone wants 310 plus now anyways lol.
-
Truth. Year 2 Destiny sucks. Endgame content doesn't feel worth it. Why even bother doing the raid if the armor drops have a chance to be worse than what I'm wearing? If I want to beat Oryx on hard mode, Not only do I have to hope the gear drops, but I also have to hope it doesn't drop at a crappy light level. Year one raids always dropped max level gear, why change it? It's not like other activities drop 300+ gear. And some people think trials is going to save this game from new releases? The matchmaking for trials is going to be based on the team's win count, not connection. And adept weapons won't be elemental primaries, they'll just be re-skins just like the harrowed raid stuff. So getting that 9-0 flawless run will not only be harder, but even less worth it.
-
100% agree with your post.
-
I do sit there and ask myself during a raid, nightfall, CoO, random grindy quests... Am I having fun? Honestly, and this feels elementary to put it this way but, it just isn't that much fun anymore. It's a shame really, Bungie could implement fun back into the game with some simple tweaks. - 6 man patrols - Elemental infusion - Ascension of year 1 gear - Sparrow racing - Perks that actually did something more unique than increase existing stats, perks that did something really creative and imaginative - Allow us to explore more of the world! Open up the city, let us physically drop down to the city and walk around - Shaders for ships and guns - Space battles with our ships - SPARROW ON THE FRICKING DREADNAUGHT, lol - Un-nerf shotguns for PVE, 45% was simply too much - A rule (like a rule for email) where if armor or weapons drop at a light level below 270 (or whatever) it automatically dismantles and moves the resulting gear to our inventory - Make the old raids relevant for crying out loud, VOG and CE 40 that drops year 2 loot AND OMG, please for the love of all that is holy, don't make me dig into a start menu to switch my frickin guns! Hot buttons you idiots! For a game that touts so much gun diversity, switching between a sniper and a shotty is about as smooth and intuitive as putting together an IKEA entertainment center. Seriously, a year later and I have to hide in a corner of a map to switch guns? Fix that crap. - Sparrows with guns... Not fricking pikes... They suck. - It's time for OMM for nightfalls - Bring back carry more heavy ammo, not more rockets specifically, MORE HEAVY AMMO - I'm not a PVP player, but man my friends say they just don't get good drops anymore in PVP, does that sound familiar to anyone? - Faction wars?! On the cosmodrome? Ok, even if you don't agree with these, maybe some of them. Make Destiny fun. I whine cuz I think the potential is there, and there are ways for Bungievision to be greedy asshats and the players can still benefit. Just make the game fun already. - Dizz Ace

Edited by SKILES85: 10/26/2015 10:30:52 PMI don't get why they try to make this a 365 day a year type of game. We all like it why not have fun and we would buy the next... They release things like 5% at a time to stretch it out. For example all the exotics aren't available yet I'm stuck winning 6 invectives and a handful of 4th horseman's... Which I already freaking had last year! If it was a good experience I would keep buying it! I'm not saying it should be a 5 hour COD story mode but damn... RNG on raid gear light level, timed events, everything in the freaking game needs to be infused several times.... It kills the experience and ttk has gone waaay over the top with this BS. I feel like they tricked us into the next WOW that consumes entirely to much of your life.
-
Bump. The new system is trash
-
This needs attention
-
Bumpfortruth, they need to shut the game down and completely reboot it like Squaresoft(enix) did with Final Fantasy online, that game was really really bad and turned into one of the best titles for Final Fantasy and an amazing online game
-
I'm a day one player and I agree. No need to even do a nightfall since exotics are earned by completing month long quests. Therefore we don't need an elemental primary in their view. Logically they are kind of useless unless you just want to run the raid over and over again and make it easier. I'm very close to quitting, I'll finish my exotic sword bounty on my hunter and then see how I feel but me tired of playing for 2 hours and getting nothing done and having nothing to show for it except maybe infusing an armor piece 2 points

Edited by Unforgiven: 10/26/2015 10:23:06 PMHonestly I think I am done with Destiny and video games altogether. This game reminds me too much of World of Warcraft now and I quit that game because it killed my personal life. No thanks.

Destiny the game is circling the drain. This companion app is the only good thing out of the Bungie studio at the moment.
