Before TTK :
I used 1 main primary and switched to use 3 other primaries when needed for certain activities = 4 primaries used
After TTK :
I use One primary on everything = 1 primary used .
The Arguement that you now have a reason to use a variety of primaries is Invalid, I always had that ability.
the thing is why would I use a variety of guns to perform the same exact function but they are not as good as the only primary I prefer to use .
Say I like Monte Carlo, why would I use Jade Rabbit or Hawkmoon ? I prefer Monte Carlo over those , so there is 100% no reason for me to ever use them, except out of pure boredom or to be sadomasochistic .
It's like Gjally horn , people liked using it for everything, why would they use anything else ? They had a hundred other choices , nobody forced them to use it for killing LVL 5 dregs in cosmodrome, but they used it for everything because they enjoyed it.
And it's the same with Primary Guns , if I Enjoy using Monte Carlo I am going to use that One gun to kill Everything, I'm not going to use Ace of Spades just because there are no elemental primaries ( where does bungie get their logic )
( if Ace of Spades did Elemental damage I would use it on occasion because I had a reason to )
I Always had the ability to use Any primary gun in the game , removing Elemental damage from them does not give me a reason to use other primaries, it takes away the Only reason to use other primaries .
Bungie maths :
1 kinetic dmg + 3 elemental dmg = 4 weapons
Remove elemental dmg from primary , so the end result is
1 > 4 = more options (/baffled)

They have the Data , it will clearly show that the vast majority is not going to randomly switch primary weapons for no reason just because they can ( they always could do that since release )
The Vast majority will take the easiest path = equip one weapon for everything ( just like Gjallyhorn )

When we say variety, we don't mean people are using tons of different guns, we mean people are using one gun collectively. There's no Fatebringer, no black hammer, no gjallarhorn. Everything is effective and finally, [i]finally[/i] your primary is more of a personal preference instead of what's stronger than the others

The problem isn't that people use a gun they like all the time. The problem is people being essentially forced into using a gun because of the damage type. Guns like oversoul edict,song of ir yut and abyss defiant weren't used because they were good, they were used because of burn.

This exactly. I hate when people say it promotes more variety. I just keep thinking how?? There's literally no reason for me to swap weapons any more. I liked elemental primaries because I at least had options to use for night falls and taking out different shields.

These are my thoughts exactly. I never switch from Hung Jury because I literally have no reason to in the environment. I don't see why so many people here are struggling with that concept
