Tell me this, did you ever use an exotic primary with kinetic damage in any high level PvE content when Elemental primaries were an option? Or even any legendary vendor primaries?
Variety is good.

-
People never use exotic primaries outside of pvp and ToM.
-
Variety means MORE choices. Eliminating elemental primaries takes away a choice. You can choose to use whichever weapon you want to. If you chose to use an elemental primary it's because the gun was better for what you were doing. You could choose to use it or choose to use something else. Now we don't have a choice to even use an elemental primary. That's reducing variety, not increasing it.
-
Takes away choosing between 4 weapons and makes approx 50 more viable for high end PvE content.
-
No. It takes away the option of even using an elemental weapon. Any weapon is viable, some are better than others. Just like right now. Instead of buffing other weapons and giving them elemental options if they thought it was a problem, they took away an option. You could ALWAYS choose not to use an elemental primary weapon. If you chose to use it it was your choice. Not having it at all is reducing variety.
-
Not having it at all means that if it's a solar nightfall I don't have to worry about having a vision of confluence to be good.
-
It means that you don't have an option to use a solar primary if you want to. All guardians are less effective in such a nightfall than we were before. This is less variety and a step back for guardians, not forwards.
-
And I won't use a kinetic exotic primary now either. Elements don't make as much of a difference as you would think from a variety standpoint because there will always be a single 'best' weapon

In PvE there is. I have a Down and Doubt 00 which is godly for PvE cuz of Firefly an Army of One. I have a Red Spectre with Crowd Control and Hidden Hand, I have a Not like the Others with zen moment and firefly and Nirwen's Mercy Vendor version. Also an Imago Loop I have yet to test. If I'm not using those it's Ace of Spades.
