My pessimistic friend, you can look at what you're given any way you'd like. Bungie really isn't being 'unfair' with the Nightfall drops. RNG -is- terrible sometimes... Oh well! If that is really your biggest issue (getting items for free AND possibly better gear than you would have gotten previous), then you haven't played many MMOs before and there is no soothing your rage.
