Where the target of interest (or center of attention) is in a room is always considered the front of the room.
Example one : Where the teacher or professor instructs is the front of a room.
Example two : At a concert the stage is the front of a room.
Traditionally people enter the room from the back to refrain from distracting the target of interest or center of attention.
It is in poor practice to teach from the back of the room or have people enter from the front of a room unless they are the interest. For example: a graduation or award ceremony.
This leads us to say that teachers, instructors, and professors change their relative direction to the class. So to the class it is their left, right, front, and back.
For example, when a drill instructor/Sgt. in the military says "left face" it is relative to the group not the person giving the order.
This also brings us to the warpriest, where the person calling the order say commands as the people are looking to the warpriest.
With Oryx, he is the center of attention so he is in the front of the room.
