It is simple: 1) The new meta encourages the use of multiple weapons and not just Fatebringer, Black Hammer and Gjallahorn; 2) You need weapon parts multiple times to infuse those weapons from the 280 or lower light they arrive at to 290+ to make them usable in the Nightfall, raid and Iron Banner; and 3) Because of this, nearly everyone is short on parts. The players who "use almost none" are probably running around with only 3-4 weapons that they use, which the new meta was designed to get away from. If Bungie wants us to use more than a handful of weapons, we need more parts.

  • I use 3 or 4 weapons in each slot, does that mean I'm not diverse enough?

  • Well put. Year One. I played 3 weapons 95% of the time. My Scout, My IceBreaker and my Rocket Launcher. Year Two I now use a shotgun, pulse rifle, fusion rifle, auto rifle, hell even a sword. It's great to expand, great to hit "the mind" with my 300 Warlock Elemental Fusion and watch him melt. But what is not fun is having beautiful full green circles on gear I cannot use simply because I don't have weapon parts. To top that off say you want to level what you have a little faster you know ENJOY it some... That primary, secondary and heavy telemetry that's going to cost parts too! So it's not just parts for the upgrade of the actual weapon itself. Parts play a vital role in EVERYTHING weapon related in this game. Bottom line. And yes I am all over this post today cause I want this at the top of the forums. Every one of us is getting screwed by this. And all of you that are cocky with your 1000s in your vault not understanding.... You will run out if this stays the same trust me.

Exactly. I find myself upgrading anything halfway interesting to see if it will fill a need. And when I constantly can only get weapons or armor that is 1point of light higher than what I have I find myself infusing just to get me that much closer to the next light level. Until you hit 300 and your exotic engrams drop at 300 you have to take every bit you can get. I guess if I could find the time to raid it might be different.

  • I wish, I can hit 306 on all characters and have gotten 2 exotics to drop at over 290...... and one was the sword. :/
