Artemis feigned the surprise, having full trust in Leon. She flipped out her revolvers, her aim steady as she looked to the figure.
"If you want the vanguard, you'll have to get through me."She stated. [i]and him.[/i].

In an instant a bolt of lightning struck in between the two and a warlock rise from the crater and turned towards the figure "You're lucky im merciful" he said as he walked over to him and grabbed him by his throat "Or else i would enslave you, and make you my bítch"

She was glad his little trick had worked this time, the girl blinking and raising a brow at his words. [i]never...piss off leon[/i] she thought and smirked, holstering her revolvers.

He started to crush the figures neck, revealing hydraulics and machinery "so...Cayde...how does it feel to be in a new body"

The huntress froze, eyes wide at Leon's words. [i]cayde? No..[/i] someone she had looked up to so highly...it didn't make sense...

"But that won't really matter soon, now will it" he said as he threw Cayde to the ground and put his foot on his head "And to think you almost got away with it"

"How..how's all this possible?"She mumbled, looking away from the scene. [i]why[/i] She couldn't watch, he had been her mentor for[i]years...[/i]it was unbearable

"Artemis...hes not the same" he said as he lowered his head and turned to Cayde "Anything you want to say?" "P...please...dont do this, im begging you" "Why shouldn't I" "I...I can change" "Damn right you can" Leon said as he reched to the back of Caydes head.

"Wai-wait, what are you doing?"the huntress asked, rushing forward. Was he doing what she thought so?...

"All exos can have their memory wiped, and its time his gets wiped again" he looked at her "Do you want to do it?" As he asked ber Ikora put a gun to the back of his head "Im sorry, i cant let you do that."

"Ikora, put. The gun. Down."Artemis threatened, her own revolver to Ikoras head, her other hand on her arm. "You can't protect him from what he's done."

"We've worked too hard for it to end like this" she said "Ikora, What are you talking about?" Zavala asked "Cayde and i have been trying to take control of the city, but we didn't have the means to do it. But that's all changed. now nothings stopping us."

"Except for two [i]very[/i] pissed off guardians."Artemis said, the hammer on her revolver inching backwards. "Now. Do not make me repeat myself."

"The last time i checked, neither of you are guardians." she said with a laugh "go ahead shoot me, and the moment you do that, he dies. then what would happen. Who would lead the city. You arent enough of a leader for that."

The huntress snapped, grabbing Ikoras arm roughly and twisting it behind her back, her revolver clattering to the floor. "You know, I never really liked you.."She said, twisting her arm harder. Artemis looked to Leon and nodded towards cayde.

He flicked a switch inside of a panel on his head and cayde had a blank stare, He flicked it back and cayde sat up and looked at Artemis. "Awaiting briefing"

She froze, her chest tightening at the sight of him, it was an oddity to see him not...well not Cayde. She still had a grip on Ikora and looked away, shaking her head. "I cant."She said, looking to leon.

"Fine, ill do it, wipe memory from the past year. Still retain personality. End briefing" he turned to her "Now was that so hard?" he said with a smile.

"I guess not."She sighed, tightening her grip. "Now what do we do about Ikora?"

"Simple, we put her on trial for treason." he said as he looked at Ikora. "Cayde doesnt remember any of it but someone needs to watch him" "Whos going to take Ikoras place?" Asked Zavala.

"I will until we find an appropriate canidate for a perminent position."Artemis answered simply. That way she could keep an eye on Cayde alongside Zavala. She looked up to Leon, giving him a small smile. "You need to lead this city."

"Artemis...I...I can't. I'm not fit to lead the city." he said as he looked to the ground "I couldn't even keep you out of harm, how the hell am i going to keep a whole city safe"

"i dont know..." he said as he looked at her. "Why would i take over for him, there are plenty of other candidates. I was exiled for god sakes"

"Wrongly exiled."She pointed out, giving him a pleading look. "Trust me on this, you'll have the support. Give it time..."
