im retired,I play 6-12 hours a day, over 2200 hours played and as I sit here with less than 150 weapon parts to my name Ive realized that Im done.
Grinding for rep/exotics/a coveted gun, I can understand, but weapon parts? Is this how I want to spend my gaming time...?
I will play until november 10th,and hopefully by then both Fallout and No Mans Sky will both be out.
Bungie has broken my will to play this game.

I'm a kid and I stored a lot of weapons and I still don't have any.

I've been having a similar feeling. I don't WANT to have to GRIND content that isn't useful to me for fun to get parts to level up something. I do plenty of strikes, raids, and courts every week, but I don't want to spend all week farming strikes after I've used my 3oC just to get the parts. UUUGGGGHHH.

Edited by Baron-Zemo-420: 10/22/2015 5:48:30 PMI feel you. On Tuesday I run my toon though all of the activities of the day including the raid. at the end of day I had 30 weapon parts in my inventory. I started the day with zero. I'm not grinding 4 hours a day for 30 weapon parts.

Edited by AFGMRaven: 10/22/2015 5:04:03 PMI feel your pain friend. On release the gameplay mechanics were solid enough to warrant a good amount of gametime. Though the longer I played the more it felt like doing work than playing a videogame. Countless griding and every update Bungie tweaks something to increase the grind. Their concept of longevity is doing the same shit over and over. It makes a man sick. I dropped the game before HOW but when my friendslist was full of people playing the TTK I caved and bought the expansion. Big mistake. Standing around grinding the same shit over and over. They took the worst concepts of mmos and ignored the good ones. -end rant

Good rant. I have enjoyed playing up through HoW. Now TTK just feels like all you do is grind. I am even losing the desire to play with my friends because it just feels tedious. .... And I don't even want to get into the low light drops & engrams - I get it that it should take time, but if you play a lot, the game should see the hours you are logging and recognize it with higher light. Just sayin'...

Kudos for being a more mature gamer! However, can I ask, how'd you burn through so many resources? Do you upgrade every gun you use? With that many hours invested, you should have 1000s of surplus weapons to dismantle. For me, Im not swimming in resources, but I also don't upgrade everything. I see grinding for parts in the same way as grinding for kills in the chaperone quest, for example.
-
LOL! I wish I knew where all my parts went! I swear. I really don't keep track of them. I simply play along, I upgrade, trash, infuse.... I even broke down a ton of year one stuff.... But now, I can say the drop rate for me at least is heavily skewed toward armor. I get positively giddy when I get a weapon or weapon engram. Then I have to agonize which piece gets blessed with an upgrade!
-
my characters all used to have their own unique loadout... FatebringerX3 VoC X3 BH X3 Jolder Hammers(1 for each burn)X9 etc..... I didnt have enough weapon parts to really give rerolling the amount I wanted to. Im swimming in motes/strange coins/glimmer/armor material, but no weapon parts To me this is beyond absurd.Weapon parts, like armor material, should be something accumulated in abundance through normal gameplay, and its not.
-
Edited by Jesp: 10/22/2015 8:45:27 PMI had thousands last DLC but rerolling solved that. This DLC I think I started in the 500's but that quickly dwindled. Exotics are 10 WP a level up=around 40-50 to complete a y2 exotic. And infusion is 10WP per go. Not saying its impossible to go positive. But you've either got to be lucky (I seem to get way more armor engrams than weapon), hardcore player (raids and hours of time), or just dont have anything you need. Edit: Its 30 to fully upgrade Y2 exotic... Sorry was getting my year1's+2's mixed.

Add that in the first weeks we were infusing (for me D:) like crazy "critter" because you wants better dmg in your exotic, i -blam!- it up with my Suros i infuse it like this: 280>282>288>288>291>297>297 (and not only with my Suros) then i learned that even if you infuse a 280 with a 285 you got a 284 for max, so now im trying to infuse with the max so i keep some weapons and the rest i dismantle but my rate of blue engrams are like this 1/10 (weapon/armor) and with that 10% i have like 25-30% to get one weapon for infuse and the other for dismantle and even with the dismantle my probability is like 33.3% for gettin 1/2/3 weapons parts, so getting weapons parts is very low, even if you keep or "infuse/upgrade intelligent" sometime in the future some of them will be like us or worst.
-
I upgrade tons and apparently infuse more than I thought I did. I used to be swimming in weapons parts and no I have hardly any to my name. I don't have the 50 required for the touch of malice even
-
No Man's Sky doesn't even have a release window. I think we have a while. Good thing FO4 should give us plenty to chew on!
-
rumor is thats being released in 5 days to counter Halo.
-
June!
-
yeah a bit bummed to hear that today,as I know that Fallout isnt gonna hold me until then, but Id rather wait than have them rush out a crappy broken product like the folks that run this forum
-
I don't blame you. I run around hoping I'll get a weapon for that crucial part. As it is now, I must have at least half a dozen guns I can't upgrade. Really does suck.

Fallout and No Man's Sky are going to make me disappear from life. But hopefully NMS doesn't come out before December, gives me time for Fallout.
