This is not a good enough reason to reduce the number of parts we get. It's like reducing worldwide food production because a few have too much food, while some are starving. Stupid.
further adjustments may be in order?
This is not a matter of if adjustments are in order, it is a matter of adjustments are needed. No one thought they had too many parts and wanted to have less.
Bump until Bungie clearly get the message.
Edit: We're trending, gw people. Keep up the bumping. Make your own post on the issue. Whatever we have to do to make sure that every time a Bungie employee checks the forums, the first thing they lay their eyes on is a "weapons parts issue" post.

With the addition of infusing on top of normal weapon upgrading, i have barely any weapon parts and it is a grind just to hope to have a weapon part. I am really not sure what the logic was behind nerfing the amount of weapon parts. I feel the grind is worse than when the game first came out. I have to grind for every little thing now. Higher light level gear and guns, weapon parts, materials. I am not able to test guns out to its max level due to lack of weapon parts. And now that the light level will increase again tomorrow, I have to infuse and upgrade my choice guns. Not to mention the grind of hoping to get 310 items. Now 320. The grind/struggle is real (RNG everything sucks). Will never be max 320, dont have the time and I play alot, whereas at least in the past there was a chance to be maxed.
