Its not evil but also not good. It literally only helped us because it wanted us advanced in order to fight and die as the last line of defense for the traveler. Also the fallen used to have the traveler, there are hints everywhere.

Yup. And the reason it didn't leave was because Rasputin shot it. There was a Grimiore card or something and it said something about no getting confirmation and shooting [o] (Traveler).

No the traveler was going to stay and fight on its own, but then Rasputin shot it to deter it from leaving even though Rasputin didn't know it was going to stay.
