If you are.....
- Deaf
- Hard of Hearing
- Auditory Impaired
- Do not use MIC's
- Have trouble staying in groups
- Have a disability
- Need help with raids
- Have limited abilities
Then this clan is for you. Deaf Gamers United seeks to unite all the deaf, hard of hearing, and auditory impaired gamers of the Destiny community in one place. Our goal is to provide an equal opportunity for those who lack the hearing or auditory skills to complete the raids in Destiny, most notably the Raid of Oryx. Hearing people are also encouraged to join and help those who need a helping hand to be successful in this game. No gamer is left behind. Deaf Gamers United seeks to bring down barriers and eliminate stereotypes against gamers with disabilities.
I often see gamers with disabilities being booted from teams because they do not have MICS or because they simply cannot communicate with one. Discrimination against gamers with hearing and auditory disabilities is a common problem across both platforms. YOU DO NOT NEED A MIC TO COMPLETE THE RAID OF ORYX!!! This clan seeks to eliminate the stereotype held against gamers with hearing, auditory, or any other disability.
We do not discriminate against anyone and encourage everyone to work together and accomplish activities with a great degree of success. This clan is open to all and everyone who wishes to help those with deafness, hard of hearing, auditory impairments, and other disabilities.
We are not rude, we do not taunt, and we do not bully others in this clan. Everyone is encouraged to work as one so that gamers can have the same experiences that we have come to expect from this game. The goal of this clan is to ensure all members get a chance to succeed in this game because success can be had despite disability.

Add me if I get to raid anytime I'll do plates and whatnot you just stay by me :)

I think this is a great idea (i have significant hearing loss) but for me it wouldn't work. Its the clan name. Is a good idea don't get me wrong, but i prefer to keep my impairment to myself and not have a clan-tag basically saying 'I'm deaf' as it brings to much attention to me and would definitely impact my time on destiny. (People wouldn't invite me to raids etc because callout are incredibly important in those) Nice idea though, good luck to all of you who join it!

Sweet you guys are doing this. I'm not deaf but can I still join to help out? Seems like a good cause and in very active

Bump, I joined :) I hate not being able to get shit done just because some idiot thinks not being able to use your voice = not capable of doing anything in a raid

This article is strong written and well said. Can't get disagreed with this. I am also deaf and have been playing destiny game for almost 10 month. I only completed few raids such Crota's end and VOG mission with my hearing friend but that isn't good enough with my success game nor satisfaction because I can't find a decent group that is willing to work with communication in order to understand this game. It's time for a change that I would consider to join the DEAF community so I would be greatly appreciated to play with anyone who is serious gamers or experienced players and FUN too. Add me on my Psn: GreenSpruce. All light level 290+ with hunter, warlock and titan.
