Even if the Traveler wanted to flee put your self in it's shoes. If you where the last hope against the deep and hive and it looked like things where not going to work out wouldn't you also run.

The warmind said "not uh sugga, youz gotz to staaaay and keep these babies SAFE!" That is why the traveler still resides on Earth. The Traveler is technically a hostage.

Yep pretty much. I actually find it pretty funny. At least it didn't end up being completly -blam!-ed by the darkness like it probably thought it would.
