Whats the deal with everyone running low on weapon parts? 30 mins of court of oryx produces a shit load of armor and weapon mats
English

I always get armor or nothing at all (not my Rune usually means no engram for me) - then when I do get some weapons, it is probably 1 out of every 10 engrams. Then the cryptarch likes to turn them into motes...
-
Court of m Oryx gives me armor or nothing pretty much most of the time. Your RNG numbers most be amazing!

I dont know what to tell u bro, i have 3 characters that im constantly upgrading weps and armor on. Between strikes and other activities, whenever i go to court 2 or 3 times a week for 30 mins i go through 10 -15 or so runes of all kinds and i get a lot of parts. It may be because i run all characters so im always crushing shit. But weapon parts and armor parts are something ive never ran out of
-
It's like 40 or 50 parts to upgrade one exotic. Then all the weapon parts to infuse. I'm running low as -blam!- and I am day one player
-
This. Weapon parts are needed for everything. Honestly - why do we even have weapon/armor parts? I think planet resources, glimmer, and marks are plenty enough for standard currency.
-
The problem is that there are more weapons. There are 11 weapon types and 6 + ghost armor types. Within each weapon type, there are multiple weapon archetypes. Weapon perks can materially alter performance. So a weapon you may need to level and test, while armor you can pretty much read and evaluate. This is why weapon parts (energy, ports, etc.) are more used.

Same here....I've never given weapon parts a second thought. Just always had way more than enough. Day 1....but never did a whole lot of reforging. Never reforged over & over to chase a perfect roll. Maybe that's why I never ran out.

This.

Same for me. Been playing since Day 1. Ran three characters through Year 1 so collected a lot of weapons that got dismantled and never got caught up in the reforging craze. I only run one character in TTK (Destiny feels more like fun and less like a job this way) so I'm not using as many and I currently have just over 2,000 weapon parts. Its never a concern for me.
-
People use like two or three personal favorite guns all the time. Dont get the rush to upgrade weapons that will probably only sit in the vault. Boggles the mind.
-
It's the fact that infusing takes parts. Once you are over 280 - you are infusing frequently due to such low drops. Building up a good weapon will cost you. Then each exotic needs 10 parts to unlock each node. It burns through them quick. I had over 200 last week. Now I have 50. I can see this is the new bottleneck.
-
All I get is armor, ghosts and artifacts.
-
Ever since 2.0 I've been desperately out almost all the time. I have maybe 4 weapons that I can't upgrade because I'm out of parts.
-
Only if you drop weapons. All I get is armour.
-
Same. And the few weapons I do get end up decrypting into motes or strange coins yielding no weapon parts. Seriously...if I run Court for an hour I'll get maybe six weapons if I'm lucky, three of those will be weapon engrams, two of those three are going to decrypt into motes/strange coins. That means that for an hour in the Court I'll get 3-6 parts from the three weapons that drop and another 1-2 from the one engram that doesn't turn into a mote. So 4-8 weapon parts for an hour of playing. At 5 parts per node that's MAYBE enough to upgrade one weapon node if I'm lucky. Meanwhile that hour of Court will yield four times as many pieces of armor.
-
That's why you stick to missions and strikes. Yield more in playtime easier that way, instead of killing yourself on harder stuff.
-
Strikes yield the same, if not less, weapon parts as Court of Oryx but take longer to complete for the same amount of materials. I'm starting to wonder if the drop ratio of weapons to armor is also rng based and some people have a weighted chance of getting more or less weapons vs armor....

It feels like you get a shit load, but in reality, not so much.
