When they interviewed a bungie employee with like 100 questions, one of the last ones was asking if the traveler and speaker are secretly evil.
The bungie employee looked stress and gave a rather vague answer.

Luke Smith. And that could of been for any number of reasons. This game likes to show how subjective good and evil are, or perhaps, he just wanted to keep us guessing and wondering. The grimoire, however, wholly agrees that the traveler is what we would call good.
