This is not a good enough reason to reduce the number of parts we get. It's like reducing worldwide food production because a few have too much food, while some are starving. Stupid.
further adjustments may be in order?
This is not a matter of if adjustments are in order, it is a matter of adjustments are needed. No one thought they had too many parts and wanted to have less.
Bump until Bungie clearly get the message.
Edit: We're trending, gw people. Keep up the bumping. Make your own post on the issue. Whatever we have to do to make sure that every time a Bungie employee checks the forums, the first thing they lay their eyes on is a "weapons parts issue" post.

Do strikes! So many parts it's ridiculous! I have about a 1000+ on each of my 3 chars. TOC too for exotics while on strikes + boss drops. It's win win win
-
I had roughly 800 when TTK came out. I'm down to under 50 after having 0. I completely ran out right before the patch. I think it's completely ridiculous that bungie thought that having too many parts was actually hurting anyone.
-
Court of Oryx is literally a weapon/armor parts mine.

Edited by MrBraveHeart: 10/22/2015 1:35:38 PM1,488 weapons parts here - will sell for silver ;)

Agreed. I luckily have plenty of weapon parts. But when was having a lot of weapon parts making so my experience was better than someone that had very few. In my opinion reducing something like weapon parts drop rate or amount would only be justified by one thing. Having an abundance gives you an upper hand over someone who has none. But even then how will the people who have none get any? When you step back and look at the big picture......wait never mind it still makes no sense.
-
I had over 10,000 before it got nerfed, so I am fine, but bad for those who did not have much to start with
-
I almost think the shortage was intended to encourage the dismantling of year one weapons.
-
Whats the deal with everyone running low on weapon parts? 30 mins of court of oryx produces a shit load of armor and weapon mats
-
My friend has over 600 weapon parts but hardly has played since ttk cause he had a baby girl. I play for him now and just want to steal his parts lol
-
Armor mats and weapon mats should just be in the quartermaster stock, like the planetary materials. 10 marks for 20 parts, boom, done.
-
Bump. I can't use weapon parts that I don't have Bungie! -_-
-
It was a business decision, as Bungle is a business. They need you to grind for their numbers. The more they can MAKE you play, the better their numbers look. The only way to give them the big -blam!- you middle finger is to stop playing... and no one is doing that
-
I've never run low on weapon parts, thought that this stuff wouldn't affect me since I don't level stuff like crazy. Yeah. Wrong. Just ran out. Thanks Bungie, was definitely in need of fixing. [sarcasm font]
-
I know 0 guardians who use no weapon parts.
-
Bump this guy gets it
-
mote of light , mote light ....... but no weapon parts to upgrade.
-
Court of oryx is weapon haven.
-
All they needed to do was decrease rep gained or increase parts needed for rep gain. That's the reason they nerfed the quantity. Rep gains with factions. Otherwise, it makes very little sense to reduce a material that is required for a large and important portion of the in game life of our Guardians.
-
I'd really like to talk to Jason Jones and ask him, old gamer to old gamer, "What the -blam!- is wrong with you?". I don't even care what his answer is, I just have to know.
-
I have no weapon parts
-
I NEVER understood this idiotic "logic"... "Hey, some people have a crazy amount of weapon parts, Even though it only takes up a single inventory slot and NOBODY is complaining...Why don't we just nerf the ever living shit out of them? Everybody in favor for no reason say Nerf." Nerf Nerf Nerf Nerf Nerf Nerf Nerf Nerf Lol I've never had an issue with weapon parts till now. I guess I just don't understand what the issue was...Having too many isn't an issue when they take up 1 slot. How about the 1800+ wormspore I've deleted so far? No nerf there when every single engram picked up on the DN gives you 3+, every chest gives you them in the raid lol I don't need this useless material but weapon parts in which I do need get nerf. Madness? THIS. IS. BUNGIE!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I have...let me check...fourteen. I can infuse something. ONCE.
-
Funny last year I had no glimmer but 2k weapon parts. This year I'm loaded with glimmer and starved for parts.. I'm seriously running strikes to find parts just to infuse weapons. Also I think green weapons drop until you reach 300 light or something.. Having a character at a lower light really helps.

Edited by SaxmanUSMC: 10/22/2015 2:36:14 PMI willingly admit that I consider myself a casual player in this game. I have one toon and that is all I have time for. I am ok with the drop rates of everything else EXCEPT for weapon parts. I think this was a ridiculous move on Bungie's part, especially when you consider that, at least for me, my drop rate for armor engrams vs. weapon engrams is seriously like 7:1. Even with a single toon and limited play time, I am perfectly ok with strange coin and mote collection rates. Weapon parts drop rate compared to usage is so out of balance when you compare it to armor mats vs. usage. This needs to be fixed Bungie. This is the only thing in the game I have serious issue with right now. Different ways to fix this: 1. Remove weapon parts from infusion. 2. Remove weapon and armor parts from rep gain and allow the gunsmith/class vanguard to sell them for glimmer. 3. Balance the drop rate of weapon engrams compared to armor engrams. 4 Roll back the decreased drop rate on dismantle.
-
The logic was terrible. "Some players use a lot" - then those players are going to need more. "Others use almost none" - then those players are fine as is. How exactly did you get NERF from that, Bungie? Personally the only reason I use "almost none" is because I know I don't have time to grind for them if I run out! Which is now going to happen. Thanks...
-
Seriously. I have less than 10 weapon parts on two characters. I understand they want you to be stuck in their game as long as possible but we did 10-15 heroic strikes one day and I swear to you I couldn't carry another armor engram and had three weapon engrams.
