"...Some players use a LOT of Parts, whereas others use almost none..."

This is not a good enough reason to reduce the number of parts we get. It's like reducing worldwide food production because a few have too much food, while some are starving. Stupid.
further adjustments may be in order?
This is not a matter of if adjustments are in order, it is a matter of adjustments are needed. No one thought they had too many parts and wanted to have less. Bump until Bungie clearly get the message. Edit: We're trending, gw people. Keep up the bumping. Make your own post on the issue. Whatever we have to do to make sure that every time a Bungie employee checks the forums, the first thing they lay their eyes on is a "weapons parts issue" post.

  • I splurged recently due to the influx of new guns. I've still got probably in excess of 500 spread out among my 3 characters. I certainly wasnt complaining about their drop rate though :/

  • I would like to know how this is being looked at, especially in regards to other material stores, because there does seem to be a huge difference in the weapon part "demand" across the playerbase. Let me explain(I actually do have the time): Seeing as how there are several threads started regularly regarding the need for more weapon parts and that there are usually multiple replies within those threads claiming that the poster doesn't understand why the OP needs more, I'd say it is safe to say that there truly is a wide variance in either the supply or demand of weapon parts between players. I don't presume to know the cause of this, just that the difference does exist. Perhaps it is resulting from a difference in playstyle, how players upgrade/replace gear, or maybe in preferred activities and the drop rates for each one. Who knows? Well that is kind of my question: who knows? I would assume that Bungie should know the statistics for their own drop rates and activities played. And they should know the gear progressions built into their own game well enough. So I want to know what they say about the difference, not just confirm it exists, by try to figure out why is does. I look at it this way: If they don't want to add another way to get weapon parts for fear of opening up an easy way to boost faction rep, then maybe try and look at the "why" of the problems and see if there is a way to balance the needs. Or maybe more simply, allow more material conversion. If it is faction rep that is holding back the weapon parts, then allow us to covert between armor and weapon parts since they are both available for faction rep.

    • I think it is to make gaining faction rep even slower than they have already made it. Next up, motes of light.

    • Last time I went to infuse something I had 0 weapon parts. I'll bump this all day. What an unnecessary nerf. Especially when the vast majority of people are hurting in that department. So a handful of try hards who play 40 hours a week have 1500. Dismantle them if it's a problem

      • Why would they want to? It's just another good way for them to increase the grind, increase playtime and make that PAPER.

        • So I find that this game is alot better if you stop grinding and play in spurts. Just enjoy the gun mechanics and getting to shoot at shit. There isn't enough time in the day to do everything there is to do in Destiny. Maybe when I was younger but as an adult with a life and responsibilities it's impossible. That being said I've got close to 400 hours in this game which I realize isn't alot in comparison to most day one folks, but I should never run out of weapon parts and yet I'm down to 40. How the eff does that even happen. Talk about BS. I definitely think TTK was an improvement but Bungie does like to show you how much of your time they like to waste if you take their game seriously. Hundreds of hours grinding to get weapons upgraded and then blam a new DLC comes out and it all becomes worthless. WTF???

          • I've got plenty, but the thing is it can be turned in for faction rep, so I'm fine with stacking up 100+ on every character. Not having enough is a bigger issue than having too much. Just gotta give people with too much something to use it on, and they already have.

          • Bump. The fact that anytime I play, my ultimate goal is to "get more weapon parts." Is stupid. Bungie, I do not want to play the "lets find guns to break" game. It ruins the fun of every other activity if my only useful reward would be shit guns, that I need for more weapon parts.

            • What we need is in game trading, then the people with all the weapons parts can just trade for like legendary marks or some shiznit.

            • This is the best reason. So, now bungie can sell you weapon parts by using silver.

            • It is far past the time that Bungie admits the train is completely off the track here. They are swinging wildly at whatever they think is wrong and have no clue how to bring it back. This game has lacked a clear vision from the beginning. All the story turmoil, the error codes, the complete lack of balance in crucible. It's as if the creative director just told all the departments to do whatever they want, regardless of how it affects the rest of the game. Trouble is, it's still fun. Multiplayer has lots of options, the gun mechanics are cool, and it looks wonderful. Another user called it "the most beautiful train wreck ever." This game is a Frankenstein's Monster of a mess, but even with its flaws, people still play. Personally I think they've benefitted greatly from a launch window with virtually zero competition for its player base. However, in the coming months, it will see some stiff competition in the form of Halo, Fallout, Battlefront, even the new Tomb Raider will affect it on the Xbox side until it releases on Playstation. We shall see how the rest of the year goes.

            • Yeah they just trying to give you a reason to run strikes, court of oryx. Those are the main source for engram drops that are so useless that you dismantle for parts. I guess we where upgrading to fast. (I.E burning through there expansion to quick, so instead of more content we get time gates, reduction in drops, a longer grind.) way to go bungie......
