While I do agree that Matpat bases his claims on old story and lore details, there is still too much obscurity to say one thing or the other regarding the traveler's true purpose, what the hell we are really fighting for, or the real meaning of the black garden's enigmatic Grimoire card. Which still applies to the current lore and still carries some seriously suspicious implications as to what a guardian's true nature really is. Hell one of the cards from the books of sorrow clearly state that even Oryx doesn't know what the deal is between the darkness-which is the deep- and the traveler he hunts. So the jury is still out as what kind of explanation we will get regarding the chaotic amalgamation that is Destiny. The no time to explain description hopefully foreshadows this: "Soon"...

  • The Traveler tried to wipe out the races of the Fundament because it knew the Hive would eventually make a deal with the Worms. However, when trying to change our fate, we often cause it to come to pass

  • and that makes it right? should species go extinct for choosing a path different from your own? sounds like the traveler got some 'splaining to do

  • Would you wipe out a planet in order to save a whole universe?

  • it depends on what the situation is... The traveler tried to wipe out species BEFORE they commuted with the worms, so it had no basis to justify a mass extinction, since no threat was present. Only after seeing the effects of the decision the krill made would it be justified to make such a harsh attempt. my 2 cents tho.

  • Yea but she had to strike before the hive made the pact. It was a risky decision but had to happen

  • Maybe in your eyes, but to me a true force of good focuses on saving, not destroying and even if destruction is necessary, there is always something worth saving. Like noah's ark
