It never planned to leave us. It wasn't selfish, it was -blam!-ing scared for its life. It wanted to stay with us and fight cause it was tired of running

[i]More recent Grimoire seems to indicate that Rasputin blew the Traveler out of the sky, or at the very least planned to. The fact that the Traveler's wounds are Earthside do lend credence to the idea of Rasputin's intervention, but without knowing the circumstances in which it sustained the damage, it's impossible to tell what really happened. Like I said, Light cannot be simulated. Rasputin guessed that the Traveler was going to leave, but he guessed wrong

And I see no reason to believe that it did not attempt to flee once again. Ghost Fragment: Traveler 2 doesn't convince me otherwise. It sounds more like something else (Rasputin?) is telling the Traveler "No. You're not running again. This time, you'll stand and fight. And you'll win."[/i]

That card is labeled "Dreams of Alpha Lupi". Alpha Lupi is the Traveler

[i]These "dreams" obviously took place after the Collapse, after it had already been knocked out of the sky by Rasputin/the Darkness. They don't negate the possibility of an attempted departure. It could very well indicate that the Traveler is realizing or is being told that it has no choice now but to make a stand. [/i]

[i]I agree. But still, that does not negate the possibility that it attempted to flee. And remember, Rasputin is an extremely intelligent mind. He's not likely to make such a drastic action as shooting the Traveler down without just cause. I understand that Light cannot be simulated, but Rasputin would not have attacked the Traveler unless it was in the process of leaving. If there was a chance of it staying, it would have been a much more valuable asset uninjured. [/i]

Then again, crippling the Traveler released the Ghosts and most likely a blast of Light, driving back the Darkness

[i]That's certainly possible, but I don't think that was Rasputin's intention. He couldn't have possibly known that firing on the Traveler would have yielded that result. As you said, Light can't be simulated. So far, the only possibility I can see is that the Traveler tried to flee, and Rasputin did the equivalent of saying "You'll stay and fight, or I'll kill you myself." [/i]

Then why didn't it make the Fallen the Guardians as well? It never done anything like that until it had been crippled by Rasputin. I get that it was scared but in it's fear, it showed us how it truly is. It will run and protect itself by sacrificing whatever world it was at.
