So what, complaining about not getting free stuff is the adult mature thing to do?
Grow up. Bungie doesn't owe you anything.

Do show where ANYONE has ever demanded free stuff. It's a myth concocted by Bungiephiles as a stock response to anything negative.
-
Are you kidding? Read above. You're posting on a thread about getting free stuff.
-
Sounds more like he's asking Destiny to make up the shortfall of content against the original price tag. That's not asking for free stuff on top, that's asking them to meet the price with the content it was supposed to have.
-
Lol no dude, it's a lame way of rewording "give us free stuff".
-
So, you pay £75. You get maybe £35 worth of content. What was the other £40 for? If that's the case, they either shore up the content shortfall, or give us our money back, because they overcharged us. Simple as. Pick one. Really calls into question your ethics if you think what they've done is perfectly acceptable.
-
Lol where are you getting those numbers? And you weren't forced to spend that money... You could have waited for reviews to come out. Your logic only applies if the content was cut after you bought it, which is obviously by the case
-
Edited by MOAB23: 10/21/2015 8:04:39 PMPretty good judgement, based on what you've actually got compared with other titles. Actually probably less than £35 total worth. I've played MGSV for nearly two months, still haven't completed it, and it cost me £1 more than TTK would. On top of that, it shares many elements with Destiny, yet applies far more creativity to accomplishing those various elements. I (and many others) spent my money based on the reputation of Bungie from Halo, and the advertisements. This wasn't a first time company releasing something. The fact that because I bought it prior to reviews in your eyes negates any complaint I have is stupid. Or is it too much to expect a company with a ridiculous budget to actually finish their game? I suppose cutting out what was said to be in it prior to release, but not telling anyone that you were doing that, makes it so much better?
-
Lol dude, it's not bungies fault that you took poor steps to ensuring you were spending your money effectively. And destiny is not a story driven game like mgs. Apples to oranges my friend. Are you just here to blame bungie for not making a purchase that works for you? Because that sounds like it's your fault, as much as you want to deny it.
-
It's not Bungie's fault that they false advertised and lied, and continue to lie, about their product? Nah, must be the fault of the players to expect, you know, an actual fully working, fully complete game. Destiny isn't story driven. Ain't that the truth. All Destiny has is the laborious grind. MGSV has a grind too, for acquiring resources, materials and personnel. Difference is, it doesn't feel like a chore. I'm here to call Bungie out for not fulfilling what they advertised. Or are you happy to shell out cash for incomplete products?
-
What did bungie lie about again? Because pre beta stuff isn't guaranteed for any game... Looks like you just have buyers remorse, and are taking it out on the company. The fact is: you could have done your research into your purchase. This is on you, dude. Next time be responsible with your money.
-
Edited by MOAB23: 10/22/2015 2:44:24 PMWhat did they lie about? They've lied almost non-stop since release. Even before that, people were under the impression that the game would match what was shown earlier. Did Bungie come out and say it had been altered heavily? No, they said nothing. They pushed it the same way knowing it was not what they had shown. Then we have Deej, with his 'nobody left behind' response. Guess that didn't work out. People mentioned about content being cut for DLCs. They said it wasn't true, turned out to be very true. They mention improvements in balance and drops, zero difference. I'm taking it out on a company that has lied and dealt with its customers in an atrocious manner, took a large amount of money for not very much, and then had the cheek to strip it down to little more than a demo with about two weeks notice. I think their behaviour is on them, no-one else. Anyway, I'm tired of running roundabouts with you. You're obviously a Bungie kiss ass, or an extremely immoral, apathetic individual. It's the only way you could think how they behaved is in anyway justifiable. Why you defend a company like this, to which you owe nothing, is an absolute mystery.
-
Lol what? So data mining cut content proves they lied? Dude. Them not putting out cut alpha and beta content on a point for list for you isn't lying... Do you know what a lie is? And saying "they lied about everything" as proof is embarrassing for you... Sound like a child.
-
Edited by MOAB23: 10/22/2015 3:23:27 PMRight, they told us everything they were doing, right? They kept up the illusion of there being more to the game than there actually was, so they weren't telling the truth, either. Saturn, Chicago, European Dead Zone...all mentioned as being in the game. Game arrives, not included. But where does Saturn appear? Oh, that's right, in a DLC. A DLC that is actually based on the final third of the original story. The original story that dealt with Rasputin being captured by the Hive. Ring any bells? It should, because that was part of TDB. Want to know more? Go check out any of the trending topics dealing with the Kotaku article. But apparently you believe 'No cut content is being resold as DLC' was a true statement, when it's been proven that it wasn't. If these things were part of the original narrative, they were designed for a single game. A SINGLE game. Now if you take that SINGLE game and start chopping pieces out of it because of time constraints, and instead of releasing it later on for no extra charge because it was part of the original game you start charging excessive amounts for it, you are then selling cut content. People bought the game on the belief that these things would be in it. Bungie perpetuated that myth to maintain sales. This was not content conceived after the original. It was a part of it. Therefore, it was cut, and is now being sold back to us. Pretty simple, really. And yeah, Bungie are chronic liars. If you don't believe that then you must be playing ostrich. Or why don't you go and tell people in any of those threads that what Bungie did was fair and justified, and that they are perfectly honest? Bungie can do no wrong, after all. All problems with the game are on the customer. Guess everyone has just keep throwing money at the screen.

Dude. Prerelease concept art isn't confirmed in game content. Are you kidding? Trolling? Like you can't be that stupid, can you?
-
Never said I was talking about concept art, and who mentioned trolling?
-
You did. Chicago, European dead zone, Europa, all shown in concept art only. Sorry dude, but that's not "confirmed" or "promised". And I am starting to think you're trolling.
-
Edited by MOAB23: 10/22/2015 5:50:44 PMEuropean Dead Zone appears in PVP. Widow's Court? There was supposed to be a raid on Mars, too. Guess what the next DLC is rumoured to be? Cabal centric. And concept art occurs in pre-productiion. That was years ago. All of those areas were pushed by the E3 reveal. Why do you think everyone was so surprised to discover they weren't there? Because Bungie didn't bother to tell people they'd cut it. The pretended it was still in the game, because if they admitted they'd butchered the story, sales would've plummeted. So, they lied about it to maintain their initial sales, using hype to make their money before people realised what they had actually done. The story changes were implemented a few months to a year before release. So for three years, they were working in it, with everything in the original prompt, Chicago, Europe, Saturn mixed in there. Why do you think Rasputin plays such a substantial role at first, then quietly disappears toward the end? What about the footage showing the Crow in the Cosmodrome, who was repurposed as the Prince? Or the Stranger, who was meant to be the assistant of Osiris, with Mercury being in the original game as well, but then moved to PVP and ToO. What happened to the dialogue between them? Cayde-6 more or less replaced the Crow. Rasputin was an exo, now he's just a faceless AI with a less than clear role. TTK was being worked on even before vanilla release, because it was partially built from the previous story. The Dreadnaught featured in the final part of the game, with the game itself revolving around preventing Rasputin being controlled by the Hive. You actually had to rescue him from the Dreadnaught. Now all we have is a small attempt featuring Omnigul. This is information gathered from internal sources at Bungiec as well as former employees. They all paint the picture of a massive reboot not long before release, in which the story was completely butchered. Half completed content was cut away and later sold, instead of them finishing it off and then adding it to vanilla. If you want to deny this, go ahead, but you're denying fact. They stripped out the story, stitched bits of it back together, and then figured they could sell on the parts they had removed. Instead of delaying the game, or telling prospective buyers that there were major changes, they maintained the illusion that everything previously stated would be included. Look at the E3 video by comparison, how players enter the game, how many players there are, what happens when the ketch appears. Everything shown was far better than the final product, but Bungie failed to announce that. They still don't admit it. They weren't even happy with the game when it released, and that tells you everything. If you release something for purchase under the pretence of being completed and containing certain content, whilst knowing it is incomplete and lacking, but keep your mouth closed, you are lying to the customer.

Edited by PBGellie: 10/22/2015 7:08:03 PMThere wasn't "supposed" to be anything. There were planned things that ended up getting cut. How do you know the European dead zone was supposed to be a playable area and not just a pvp setting? You don't, because nothing's led us to believe that. And please stop brining up e3. It's pre alpha. Stuff gets cut. Wow, right? You're so misled dude. It's unreal how ignorant you are to how this stuff works. Look into every game ever made and you'll find cut content.
-
And yet, why are so many people infuriated with Bungie and their handling of Destiny, if this happens with every game? Want to know how we know? BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO WORKED ON IT SAID SO, INCLUDING PEOPLE WHO ARE STILL WORKING ON IT. They specifically noted what was meant to be in the game, that ended up cut, and is now trickling out as DLC. What company complete guts it's story to the point of non-existence, and then starts putting out elements of it for a price? They're effectively selling off what was planned for the base game, instead of just adding it back in. So you end up with nothing in the base game, and then what was supposed to be in it is now being sold. Understand that, yet? What more evidence do you need? Like talking to a brick wall. Just accept that Bungie -blam!-ed up monumentally, misled people, and continues to try and cover up what actually happened, all the while pushing overpriced, reused content on us. If you can't accept information from the horse's mouth, then there's nothing else to say. You're clearly in denial about who or what Bungie is, and think they're some fantastic, upstanding company. You believe there is nothing wrong with the game, or how it's managed. Pull your head out of Bungie's ass and swallow the truth instead of their shit for once.
-
"Anonymous members" Yeah. Unnamed members of bungie. How gullible are you? And yes, they said pre alpha content was cut. You'll see that with every game.
-
So apparently, insider information is only viable if the source is named, thereby risking the source to reprisals (in this case being fired or sued). Jesus, lol. Yeah, games can cut content. No game cuts its entire story, only to sell on later. Seems to be the point you continually ignore. Doesn't matter if it was not included in the base game, it was part of the base story. It was planned for the base game. So instead of reinstating it back into the main game, they sold it on as DLC. I suggest you stop ignoring that. DLC is supposed to be content additional to the base game. Destiny doesn't have a base story anymore, because they cut it up, and are now selling it piece by piece. Get that in your head.
