Gali, our family dog, passed away this evening. She was with my family through a lot of hard times. I grew up with her, and it's extremely difficult to grasp the concept that she is now gone. I still remember the nights when I'd carry her up my ladder and into my loft as a kid..
After everything we've been through, she's the first to go- and it's hard for all of us to accept that. She was 11 1/2 years old, and was barely hanging on. She had a basketball-sized tumor in her stomach and it was growing rapidly... She left us today at home, in her bed, surrounded by her loving family.
So if you have the time, take to Earth, Mars, Venus, Luna, or even The Dreadnought, and fire a Gally shot for my pup, Gali.
She was a German Shepard, and a great one. I'll be wearing the Wolfswood Bond for a long time.

Update: The sympathy, love, and all around compassion you Guardians have all shown today has been both heartwarming and overwhelming. It's times like this when I remember that even though we can be a rowdy community, if there's one thing we know how to do, it's help each other, to be caring, and there for each other. The fact that none of you know me, but have the hearts to sympathize with my family and I on such a deep level is incredible, and I will never be able to express in words how much I appreciate that, and how thankful I am to be a part of this gaming community. You're like a second family to me, truthfully.
Lots of kind words tonight, I'm feeling a lot better, and am going to try and get some rest for the night. Keep doing what you do best, Guardians.

omg, I am having a hard time reading this on this morning in particular. I am sorry for your loss. At least she lived a good life. I was woken yesterday by my neighbor's daughter screaming. Their beloved and new 6 month old German Shepard puppy was drowned in their pool. We ran over and performed CPR but we were way too late. She was hysterical as her mom and dad are away on vacation this week out of the country and cannot be reached. I will never forget trying to save that little pup. I have more compasison for animals than humans. I am still sick to me stomach.

Sorry for your loss. Dogs are always more than just a pet. I'm glad your family got to say goodbye. Here's to Gali!!!! Rip
-
soo sorry. just had to put down my shepard also. jake so loyal
-
Sorry for the loss bud. I deleted all my gally's. I will instead, fire 7 Sleeper Simulant shots in her honour.
-
I'll fire off a Gjallahorn for ya on the Dreadnought.
-
I feel for you, my German Shepherd was taken from us by cancer when she was 7. Hopefully Ruby and Gali are having fun up in doggy heaven :P it really helped me with her not being there to think of all the fun times with her and thinking about how much of a good life we gave her.

Guardian Down
-
Will do. I'll mark a spot on the Cosmodrome for his grave.
-
I will follow through. After school I'm gonna go home and fire one Gjallarhorn shot on each location just for Gali.
-
*Fires gally* Sorry man.
-
Three friends, seven shots each. Your pup was the first Guardian to receive 21 guns
-
I'm sorry for your loss and I'll give her a 7 round salute to say goodbye.
-
Sorry to hear about that dude. It's tough losing a dog; they are always there for you when you need it. Keep your head up.
-
Always tough for us to understand because we live so much longer than dogs. But 12 years for a Shepherd is a long and fulfilling life. At the end of the day all a dog really wants is love and attention and it seems like she got a ton of that over the past decade. Just remember the good times - they're the only times a dog remembers! Will empty some wolf packs in her honor this evening. I hope you find some comfort in the coming days. Best of luck, bud.
-
I know what that feels like. My dog died last year. I will take my gjallarhorn and fire it into the hell mouth.
-
Hard losing a dog man, sorry for your loss. I bought my wife a dog when we got married 4 years ago. Never thought i would get so attached to a 4lb yorkie. That dog is always by my side when i'm home. Don't know what i would do without him hanging around.
-
My condolences. I would absolutely lose it if I lost my dog. He's the only thing that keeps me going sometimes.
-
My team is doing a 6 man ghorn salute now ;)
-
Sorry for your loss dude. I understand dogs can be more than just pets, they are a gift from God and show much love towards us even if we don't show as much love to them. They're amazing animals that make life brighter and cheer you up when your feeling down. I'll be sure to fire a Gally Shot when I get home from school.
-
I've never had a dog, or a pet for that matter. But it seems as though Gali was much more of another member of your family than a pet. Although I don't know the sorrow of losing such a friend, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Edited by Busch: 10/22/2015 2:04:40 PMSorry about the loss man :/ I never want to see my dog die, sad how short their lifespan is
-
Sorry for your loss. Its so hard to see animals go. She's in a much better place and running in a bright green grass field waiting for her family.
-
I'll fire my G-Horn for her bro... My deepest condolences...
-
If I remember (sorry if that sounds like a don't care, but I'm on my way to class), I'll be sure to go to my favorite, quiet place in the game and fire off a clip or two. I'll e going all the way back to the first place you start the game off, as it's so peaceful out there. Hope to see someone else there!

It's always hard to lose a pet, much less a good friend. My condolences.

Sending my condolences & also a rocket up to Gali
