This isn't like a regular game, its basically an MMO. If they gave you access to everything they could possibly give you right now, what do you have to look forward to between now and the next expansion? If you have ALL the exotics, what could you possibly work towards outside of grinding numbers? Timegating is a way of giving you a stream of content to keep you busy until the next update and/or expansion, stop acting as if they're ruining your game.
