Are you kidding?
I think its awesome, screw the year one way of turning up every week to run you nightfalls/raids hoping you might get one of the exotics you needed and then walking away depressed when you got strange coins, a legendary heavy weapon and an exotic you already had.
I think all these little surprise quests are brilliant, the excitement when people figure them out, rushing to get stuff done making me want to explore every extra corridor in every daily just in case.
I guess it depends whether you love back story, lore etc ads well or just want your guns handed over to you in a boring linear fashion.

The issue is not the surprise quests, that's pretty neat. The issue is finding the quest, then hitting a roadblock that makes you wait a week just to continue it. I hope they do more of these hidden missions, but extending them with arbitrary wait times is silly.

Well said. I agree totally.
I think the fact that we data mined all of the exotics causes this problem. If we never knew they existed, it would just feel like we're getting new quests every week for a new exotic, which it is.
Yea I replied to the OP with it

Agreed. It's more fun this way. I can text friends and be like "Holy crap! Did you see that X event is happening today? LET'S GO!" That's much more fun to me than blasting through all the content in the first week.

the principle is fine & I agree much better than RNG. What doesn't work though is when a mission like Sleeper Simulant disappears quickly. Anyone not able to get onto Destiny for that particular day or consecutive days misses out. Nothing to do with lore or wanting guns for nothing. Simple practicalities of Real Life.
-
How do you not get that the game is specially built like this
-
actually I DO get the game. Day 1 player so thanks for the sarcasm & probably not reading my post or getting my point. Quick dismissive response. Good work.
-
It wasn't in Year 1 . To clarify TIMED EXOTICS are fine but with Sleeper Simulant & possibly NTTE it is blink & opportunity is missed for an uncertain timescale. RNG was pants & the quests etc acquiring an exotic is a positive. These random quests that are pulled aren't. Simple as that really.
-
I get that, but the quests seem to cycle round pretty quickly, I think black spindle has been up 3 or 4 times already.
-
We don't disagree on too much. Better than RNG but I don't like these quests where if you aren't on at the right time then the opportunity is gone for an uncertain period of time. It is encouraging players to check in every day which isn't practical & is likely to turn me away to be honest.
-
I hope your joking.

I concur, having micro updates pleases me.
-
I love the way they are doing the quests and daily tie ins. But u hate the time gates. Although I totally understand why the have them
-
Agree 100%. Much better this way.

Yes indeed this is more destiny like ;)
