You didnt pay for this content. It wasn't available day 1 therefore it wasn't part of what you purchased. This is something bungie set aside to reward players for playing and exploring.

Sure, in a perfect world; but the fact is the Destiny a game developed to make people addicted to the grind and this is how it's gonna be. Complaining about time gates in a game like this is quite irrelevant.
-
What other game has time gates? I've been gaming for 30 years and I've never seen it.
-
Every game has time gated content. Any game you buy nowadays comes with dlc you pay for later on included right on the very disc. Its simply not accessible until the developer deems it is. Any mmo has new content they release at certain times. Paid or otherwise. If they released everything on day one, they'd have no playerbase within a month because everyone would be done and bored. Any mmo out there wow, eso, swtor, etc all come with patches that unlock content at specific times. Its done for a reason and it keeps people playing. This is nothing new to gaming.
-
That's not time gated, that's disc locked. Time gated is being made to wait for something you've already paid for. Disc locked is content to be sold to you at a later date. Don't get confused.

Things change man. I'm not saying that I agree but video games are on a totally different level than what they used to be and the makers of the games are finding new ways to keep up playing/paying for more. Time gates are just a part of change. It sucks having to wait a week or two for something but it'll come and it gives us something to look forward to. I don't hate it....

itll make using that weapon that much better after the wait

I'm not complaining, I don't really care. Some people do though, and I don't see why they should have to wait for something they already paid for.
