In the grimiore it says they are female I know but they are called Wizards in game and the grimiore cards still classy them as Wizards so call them what they are they are Wizards not witches
-
Because they look like witches......
-
Wizards are creatures Female wizard are wiches so Both are right
-
In french they are called : Prêtresse, witch is absolutely female. But most people I knew just called them b*tches....... a much more suitable name.
-
not true on many occasions in the game the NPCs refer them to witches
-
I was just patrolling the dreadnaught last night where you get a lot of yellow bar "wizards" and I wondered this very thing. Why AREN'T they called "witches"? They wear a dress. They float around like girlies and when you kill them they scream like a girl too. So surely they are female (and you say the grimoire confirms this) so I wonder why they are labelled "wizard" and not "witch" in the first place? Do you have to ride a broomstick to officially be called a witch perhaps? Perhaps I should just try to think of them in my mind as "the transvestite wizards" ?
-
There's no such thing as a female wizard sooo...and they even sound like women.
-
I am guilty of this big time. Left 4 dead created some bad habits..
-
What about the dragons in the game? When are we gonna fight those?
-
Who gives a -blam!-? They're witches
-
Because of this thread I am going to start calling them witches for the rest of my time playing this series. Dead serious.
-
In my Destiny version they are called "hexen" which means witches, that's why I call them witches. Wizard... doesn't sound right to me when I look at them or hear their voices.
-
Edited by shawnh1104: 10/20/2015 2:34:52 AMBecause there is no such thing as female wizards. Wizards are by definition male. Witches female. Sorcerer or sorceress. Male. Female. P to the V. Tea bag. Clam slam Oxford english dictionary defines the noun version of witch to be a woman who is thought to have evil magic powers Oxford english dictionary defines wizard as a man who has magic powers Before you ask the oxford english dictionary is more correct than any other dictionary because it traces the orgin of words
-
Wizards are male, I guess warlocks are too but there's a male connotation on the word wizard. Witches are females. The Wizards in this game are obviously female. So bungie wizard=witch.
-
I payed for this game I can call them whatever I want mate. If I want to call Golgorath 'Susan' I will
-
At a normal level, they are considered wizards. If they are of a higher rank, they are sometimes called witches (ex. The Siphon Witches).
-
Well.. Omnigul is female so she is a witch...
-
Because they look like f'n witches. But then again, i also refer to oryx as "thumb-dick", so you probably shouldnt listen to me.
-
Why do people keep asking that stupid -blam!-ing question?
-
Edited by GalvanizedChaos: 10/20/2015 6:42:43 AMBecause a lot of people are well read, unlike the people at Bungie responsible for naming enemies xD Female spell/magic casters/weavers/users are called sorceress or witches in all other iterations of magic or science fiction storytelling. Like here, OP, I'll throw you a bone. Say Bungie puts goats in the game, like you can see them in patrols and such. But then their name plate says, and the grimoire says they are called ducks. Does that make them ducks or goats?
-
I call them Caitlin Jenner. ...who the -blam!- knows what they really are.... chicks with dïcks lol
-
True, BUT they are female. Which makes it confusing for some.
-
Pure sexism
-
I call them Harry Potter
-
Witch is shorter than Wizard.
-
Cause they look like flying witches
-
Wizard = Witch dude, get used to it.
