I'm a huge life-long Star Wars fan. I'm also happy that DICE is the studio working on this next Battlefront title. Yet, after putting in so many hours into the Open Beta, I'm legitimately concerned about the state of this game. The last time DICE released a game they gave us a title on life-support (Battlefield 4). This time around, it seems their latest product won't be a fundamentally broken/unplayable one at launch. Instead, it looks like we're getting a mechanically stable game with less than half the planets and half the guns than its predecessor Battlefront 2.
I'm fine with Battlefront being a casual game intended to immerse player in the Star Wars universe. However, is it soo casual it might be half of what Star Wars fans had hoped for? Namely, half of a product?

No, just easy gunplay but the amount of teamwork it takes to win Walker assault definitely means it's no walk in the park shooter
-
Casual gaming isn't a thing.
-
The original games were casual, so so should this one.
-
Yes, having aim assist that basically locks onto people across the map is too casual
-
not all video games have to be competitive and if you are a competitive player going into a casual game it just means more kills for you
-
No. The original Battlefront games were "casual" and this one is too.
-
The beta was awesome.
-
"Casual"? You must be one of those professional gamers I keep hearing about.
-
It'll have DLC from December when new movie comes out, otherwise its going to look very old very quickly
-
It's a little causal
-
Too casual? Doesn't matter to me! Love me some Star Wars.
-
Casual is awesome. Who cares what the basement dwellers say. They're gonna buy it anyways due to Star Wars. Hyped!

I still can't understand how anyone is drawing these kinds of conclusions from the "beta". If we can be honest, we really don't know what we're getting yet. The beta helped shed some light on 2 PVP maps, which are probably incomplete previews of those maps. Also, why so many preconceptions about what the new battlefront should be or not be? What happened to just taking a game for what it is and seeing if it turns out to be fun? I guess it's the nature of forums like this, where "everyone" is an arm chair game designer AND in a "perfect world" DICE would release millions of versions of the game, just to shut every one up.

Of course it's going to be a casual game. It's based off of the most casual franchise in cinema history. But, you know what, that's not a bad thing in this case. That just means that there will be a thriving player base. I don't know about you but I personally prefer a casual shooter with millions of players online over a hardcore shooter with only a few thousand players.

It's not what I'm looking for in a battlefront game. Clearly the years have forced people to forget what made it so fun before. It's just flashy bs now.
-
I'm just glad there is customization and that is just a beta you never know they could have locked some things away so we couldn't see them, and nothing about a now PvP based game is casual

Giant dad does not approve
