Three of coins are a waste
I spent a lot of time and coins on the three of coins. In total I think I got like 30. I used them all and I only got 3 exotics. Every time I used one, I would make sure that I waited at least 15 to 20 minutes. I got a gauntlet engram. I was excited to turn that one in because I was 307 and I knew the item would be 310. When I turned it in I got a fvcking 290 exotic. Could someone explain to me why I got a 290 exotic if I'm 307? By the way, I should mention that I got it from that super knight on the dreadnaught. So if that effected the exotic to be 290 instead 310.

I've been reading a lot of things about drop rate when using coins, so today I kept track of mine. I ran 11 heroic strikes using 1 coin per strike. I got 4 legendary drops and 2 exotics. Both exotics dropped on the same strike.

3 RepliesSo 42 coins for 3 exotics essentially. That's 14 coins each. Not bad if you ask me. I believe all exotic engrams will turn into 290s. Better than the 280 you buy from Xur.

5 RepliesThree of coins it's the only thing worth buying from xur honestly. If you think about it. It cost 13 coins for a 280 armor piece and 20 to get a weapon. So you can use up to ten 3 of coins (which is 14 coins) and have a chance of getting something @ 310 or 290 which is better than getting 280.

I think you have to wait at least 30 to 45 mins in between each one. I consistently get 3 to 5 using the method.

Being 300+ light only grants you a [b]CHANCE[/b] at a 310 exotic, they can still decode at 290.

3 out if 30 sounds right. The drop rate is about 10% which matches your #'s.

It's not a guarantee. More like a 50/50. Don't know why people just assumed it was a sure thing.

Every other thing I do lately is spawn into gate lord and use a 3oC. As long as you give time for the reset. I did strike after strike with nothing. Then I starting doing that and now I'll get a couple to drop everyday.

Are a waste of what? Coins? What else are you gunna buy with them lol. Do you not remember year 1? When exotics were actually rare to get and legendarys were not common in every mission.

I get 1 engram for every 4-5 strange coins. Must be user error. Yeah, you're going to still get 290s. Suck it up princess.
