Prelik woke up and looked around, wondering where he was. His body ached, and he remembered what had happened. That Hunter…the Kell. With a growl, he picked up a Shock Blade, Arc energy crackling from its edge, and sprinted towards the throne room.
Running through the doors, The Captain roared through his communications device, “Pilot Servitor of Orbiks-3, engage engine sequence and take us to 39° 7′ 3.91″ N, 106° 26′ 43.29″ W 39.117751, -106.445358!”
A beep and whir of robotic nature assured Prelik that the command had been acknowledged. And soon, the loud boom of the main engine firing up had gone off. The Ketch was beginning to take off.
Prelik hastily made his way through the engine room. He climbed the stairs, three at a time, to the throne room bursting through the door, greeted by a sight only one would be awed with.
The towering Kell stood poised for the kill, as a lithe Guardian Hunter ran at him, pistol and knife in hand. The mere sight caught Prelik off guard, as he assumed the Kell would not be so merciful. But as time passed, he witnessed the Hunter slide under the Kell, slashing a knife across Rorixias’ leg, drawing blood and Ether.
The Kell growled, and swept his spear low, knocking the Hunter off the walkway to the lower control section below. Jumping down, Rorixias tore through the control consoles, trying to snatch the evading Hunter.
Prelik saw the two descend and followed after them, crackling Shock Blade in hand, he leapt to the Kell’s side, just as the Hunter rolled out and stabbed Rorixias in the side, the fiery knife, cauterized the pierced flesh, but it also induced more pain, which staggered the Kell.
Prelik roared and charged at the hunter. He swiped his blade at him, but didn’t make contact.
The Ketch was still rising, now high into the sky, but Lyzel hadn’t noticed until now. He rolled backwards, evading this seemingly undead Captain, and looked out the huge glass of the cockpit. In the fleeting seconds he had, he analyzed his situation: the treetops of the jungle were well below him; Kell Rorixias was kneeling, but not dead; the Ketch was high in the sky, probably on its way to orbit; that Captain was charging at him; the explosives were ready to detonate.
The Hunter jumped forward, using the Captain’s head as a platform, jumped again, and landed back on the main walkway, buying himself at least 30 seconds.
“Ghost! Detonate the tripmines!” he huffed. There was a slight beep and soon, the explosives were set off.
Prelik helped his Kell get up, and the two jumped to where the Hunter was, trapping him between them. A loud rumbling cracked, and the explosions of the main ion engine erupted throughout the ship, sending the three life forms lurching into the air as the Ketch rolled.
Rorixias lifted himself from the ground, a pain flaring from where his foe’s knife was lodged, and he growled. He knew his fate was sealed now. How could he have failed? His plans for Ash retribution would never come to pass. Time seemed to slow down, and he looked to Prelik next to him, who was fighting off the Hunter.
“He is protecting a false prophet, he doesn’t even know why,” he thought as he came up with a new plan, “the Ash must live on, whether its hierarchy is dissolved or not.”
As Prelik kicked the Guardian away, Rorixias called to him, “Prelik,” he coughed, his Ether rebreather was damaged badly. The Ketch was falling apart, pieces of metal crashed down, and the ground could be seen growing rapidly.
“My Kell,” Prelik rushed to his aid, and Rorixias clasped his shoulder.
“Prelik,” he coughed again, “you must take my mantle…you must become Kell.” Prelik shook his head, not taking the offer, “You must!” Rorixias growled, “take my Spear, and my cape…take it!”
Prelik didn’t know what to do, so he took the Ether Spear from his Kell’s outstretched arm. “Rorixas, I…“
Rorixias held up a three clawed hand, "Say nothing, Prelik. I know of your sorrows and of your triumphs, you are worthy of the mantle.

“Lyzel, the ship’s going to crash! I’m bringing ours through, just hold on!”
Lyzel acknowledged Ghost. He shook his dazed head and pushed the shrapnel off of him. Seeing the Fallen, the Captain kneeling next to his Kell, Lyzel thrust his hand into the air, pulling a Solar Hand Cannon out of the nothingness. New strength coursed through him as he took in the Light. He aimed his sights and the fiery barrel of the gun pointed at the Fallen Captain’s head.
Rorixias new the sight of the Golden Gun, and roared, using his last bit of strength, he shoved Prelik aside, standing up in menacingly.
Lyzel didn’t see the action coming, and pulled the trigger of the gun hastily, firing a shot into the heart of the Kell. The Kell staggered back and roared, but came running at the Guardian.
Thinking quickly, Lyzel saw his beloved Ashley’s face, and with an angry yell pulled the trigger again. The Kell still charged at him, and this time, Lyzel pointed the Gun at his head. With no remorse, he pulled the trigger for a third time, sending a flaming bullet through the mighty Kell’s skull, the body instantly dissolving into flakes of Light and Dark.
Prelik watched in horror as his Kell bravely went to his death. His roar was as mighty as the storms of Jupiter, but his vengeance was taken right out from under him as the Guardian, Wielder of Light and bringer of Death turned to him.
Prelik ran at the Guardian, but tackled the air as the Hunter disappeared in a flash of light.
Anger and fear took over him. Without a second thought, he stood and walked over to the Ether Spear, and Rorixias' cape. Picking them up, he remembered the state of the flagship, and ran to the Hangar, dodging wreckage and shrapnel along the way. The fires of the engine room licked his skin, but he ran through them. He had to make it; he was going to make it.

The remains of the Ketch fell in flames as Lyzel sped away safely in his ship. His mind was swarming with thought and emotion.
He had done it. He avenged her. He had brought the towering Kell Rorixias to his knees, and ended his Dark life with swift justice.
Ghost’s robotic voice spoke as he transmatted next to Lyzel, “I can’t believe it! You killed the Kell!” He whirred and beeped, “This will surely deal a blow to the Ash, and I’ve heard their Prime is dead too, killed by a fireteam of Guardians.”
Sitting back in the pilot seat, Lyzel spoke to Ghost, “yeah, we got him…. The Prime you say? Hmm, interesting…”
Ghost scanned Lyzel, and told him of his injuries, “We should probably head back to the Tower; the Vanguard will want to know of your success.”
“Yeah Ghost,” The Hunter replied, “Take us home.”
