With all the Sunbreaker haters out there, I wanna see what Titan mains have to say about their subclass.
y'know, i just remembered that curiosity did kill the cat
Edit: 50+ replies, keep 'em coming! The majority of you call for a slight armor nerf so more snipers and a GG shot can one shot it, which is pretty resonable.
Edit 2: 100+ replies, let's keep going! Again, a lot of you call for the armor nerf, but I see some movement nerfs or Cauterize nerfs in there as well.
Edit 3: Over 650 replies, holy crap. Again, as usual, armor nerfs take prevalence over all other suggestions. And to all not Titan mains, please revite accurately as to not screw with the poll. I seriously doubt less than 20% of voters are not Titan mains.
Edit 4: STAP BLOWING UP MY PHONE PLZ
But seriously, I'm glad to see so many people in this usually salty as -blam!- community being so positive and having polite debates. Shows we have hope for a few more years.
Edit 5: Over 1,000 replies! Woot.
Armor takes prevalance yet again, but some more movement speed during super nerfs have popped up here and there. Keep commenting guys!

Imo, nothing. Just like any other game that introduces a new class. The other classes have to learn how to beat it. Takes time. It'd probably be easier if we had a dueling system to assist in learning the quirks. Example: I used our flaming dash a few rounds in crucible and by the erratic behavior of the other team and my own, I think they were beyond surprised I could even do that. Or that I didn't throw any hammers and just charged in hardcore style. So IMO, nothing till it's completely understood.
-
I practically play nothing but Titan and while I love the Sunbreaker it does need tweaking. Proposed changes - 1. Decrease damage reduction like 1%(enough for GG to 1 shot us but not enough for Snipers to 1 shot us) 2. Buff the non Cauterize perks/move Cauterize to a different area so we have some decision or have to give something up to use it(this perk is the whole reason Sunbreaker is a problem) 3. Better hit box on the hammers(anyone who has played a Sunbreaker knows, it really finicky). 4. Decrease the number of hammers we can throw. That's what I would like to see. A lot of people may think this isn't extreme enough especially given I want a few quality of life changes. But you have to remember we aren't trying to make the subclass unplayable and also there is a huge PvE implication to all nerfs. But I really think this would bring the Sunbreaker down to a good level
-
I think movement or health regeneration nerf would be the best solution.
-
Cauterize regenerates slower, increase the headshot multiplier in pvp for snipers and golden gun damage
-
Slow the hammers travel time so it's easier to dodge, change cauterize so its only for grenades and melee, have it have a warning system on your hud for incoming hammers and make it so GG one shots it.
-
Cauterize should have a 3-5 scene cool down and Max armor shouldn't tank golden gun. Only changes.
-
Incoming Damage reduction needs to be decreased from 55% to 50, allowing to be one shot by golden gun and 1000yd stare type snipers. Move the health regen perk to be on the same tree as the tracking hammers. Having both is a bit much. Imagine a golden gun that could curve towards enemies and proc health regen, and have up to 6 shots, all the while having a 55% damage reduction...we all know it's a bit much. To those who say Titans were shit for year one so it's okay now...that's a revenge emotion, one far removed from one desiring a balanced pvp mode.
-
As a Defender/Striker I would say either decrease the armor slightly or not allow Cauterize to work with Hammer of Sol. As a side note, I wish Transfusion worked like Cauterize.
-
Edited by Git Gud Scub: 10/17/2015 8:21:09 PMThey need to make them less damage resistant while using there super... Golden gun needs to be a 1 shot
-
I think they should nerf the armour so bow, gg and high impact snipers can just 1 hit kill. And a buff too all Titan melees, wtf Bungie trex arms you kiddin me. At least have the range of a normal lunge of a punch in real life.
-
To be honest. I stick to Striker class in PVP.. But for Hammer of Sol, don't Nerf cauterize... Please.. It helps a lot in PvE.
-
More hammers !
-
Slightly decrease armor
-
Don't remember a huge outcry when we titans had to deal with bladedancer. Put your tampons back in and stop crying
-
A slight nerf to armor, but then put that armor into the suncharge perk. Reduces the temptation to throw hammers for getting in close with extra health. Or they could release the 3 missing exotics, that could work too.
-
OOOOOOHH YEEEEEAAAAHH!
-
Increased armor needs a nerf.. Less splash
-
This super shouldn't even get a health buff with how much damage they do but since titans are the tank class that wouldn't make much sense so they should just receive a slight health buff.
-
Edited by Fenderslasher: 10/17/2015 7:11:41 PMAs stunning as the super is, the sunbreaker still isn't breaking any huge ground in the rankings for kills. Yeah we are doing ok in the super department but the rest of the subclass falls slightly behind. I say leave it like it is for at least a few more months to see the results. As it stands, nightstalkers are taking the top rankings in all categories. Perhaps this shows us we should be scrutinizing a different subclass altogether.

Edited by SiKoMaNTiS: 10/17/2015 7:50:12 PMToo bad these polls dont only have titans voting on them whats funny is data wise, sunbreakers are severly lacking
-
Damage reduction during super should be decreased so that a high impact snipe to the head is a one hit kill just like with other mobile supers.
-
I think that they need to figure out how to make changes in pvp that don't affect pve.
-
They should net either the timer of it or the armor buff that we get
-
Just reduce the armor to bladedancer and them'S armor and reduce splash damage from hammer. THATS IT. Been Titan main'in since beta.
-
I main a Titan. I have been using a Titan since Beta. I stuck with Titan when Bladedancers, Gunslingers and Sunsingers were the go-to easiest to use classes in Crucible. I love my Titan. Do i use Sunbreaker in PvP? Yes I do, and I feel I've used it enough to back up my claims I am about to post. Is Sunbreaker OP? No, not in my opinion. Does it require tweaking? Yes, it does. A HoS Sunbreaker should not be able to "eat" a headshot from a "high" impact sniper like 1000 Yard Stare, Erienne, LDR, etc. Sunbreakers can also "eat" a Golden Gun shot which I believe to be unfair. I propose a small nerf in armor, just enough to where a GG can kill a HoS, and a high impact sniper can kill in 1 headshot. Now for the actual "hammers". No I don't believe them to be OP. I feel them to be like a better version of Golden Gun, that requires more skill. First off, HoS has a very loud, easy to hear cue upon activation. One has two choices here, assess your situations and run away, or try to combat the Titan in his HoS. The choice is yours. Some arguments towards Hammers being OP are the Cauterize perk, (which is VERY similar to a Bladedancer perk), the amount of Hammers you can throw, a tracking perk for hammers, and the splash damage it does. - I don't feel Cauterize to be OP. It has been on Bladedancers for a year and nothing was done. - I don't think 7 Hammers is OP. Yes, it is 3-4 more than Golden Gun, BUT it requires much more aim and precision than GG. With GG you point and shoot. With Hammers you've got to combat a player that could be jumping, strafing, blinking, or shadestepping. You also have to account for the arc, and where the player will land. - Now for tracking. I feel like this perk makes an already very strong super, into an even stronger super. Tracking on Hammers is unfair and I believe it needs to be taken away. - There is not much Splash damage and I feel it is fair, and ties into the amount of Hammers you can throw (around 7). I feel the developers gave us 7 hammers and splash damage to help us secure kills. Once again I'm comparing this to GG because GG is a "hitscan" weapon. Meaning you point and shoot and he dies. HoS is not a hitscan weapon. 7 hammers and a little bit of splash damage equalizes this. Now for those complaining about dying to Hammer of Sol. I said it above, you can either run to fight another day, or charge him head on and die. If you choose the latter, and then complain of Hammers being "OP" then your argument is invalid. For those saying "You shouldn't have to run from a Super, that means it is OP!" Not necessarily. Whenever I hear any non-panic super go off I ALWAYS run the other way. Why? Because HE has the advantage over me. I'm talking about Golden Gun, Bladedancer, Sunsinger, etc. If you're one of those players that charges a Hammer of Sol head on and looses, then complains of it being overpowered, then move along. I don't care for your opinion.
-
I would reduce the armour a little maybe 5% so it's on par with blade dancer, and I would maybe lower the blast radius because that's a thing I see people complaining a lot about
