With all the Sunbreaker haters out there, I wanna see what Titan mains have to say about their subclass. [spoiler]y'know, i just remembered that curiosity did kill the cat[/spoiler] Edit: 50+ replies, keep 'em coming! The majority of you call for a slight armor nerf so more snipers and a GG shot can one shot it, which is pretty resonable. Edit 2: 100+ replies, let's keep going! Again, a lot of you call for the armor nerf, but I see some movement nerfs or Cauterize nerfs in there as well. Edit 3: Over 650 replies, holy crap. Again, as usual, armor nerfs take prevalence over all other suggestions. And to all not Titan mains, please revite accurately as to not screw with the poll. I seriously doubt less than 20% of voters are not Titan mains. Edit 4: STAP BLOWING UP MY PHONE PLZ But seriously, I'm glad to see so many people in this usually salty as -blam!- community being so positive and having polite debates. Shows we have hope for a few more years. Edit 5: Over 1,000 replies! Woot. Armor takes prevalance yet again, but some more movement speed during super nerfs have popped up here and there. Keep commenting guys!

  • Simple, reduce the max armor so it can get one hit guaranteed. I don't use max armor so it wouldn't really effect me but I would get everyone else to quit their endless whining on the forums.

  • Honestly there are a lot of tweaks that could balance it. 1. Reduce the amount of hammers to 4 2. The health regen is waaaay too quick (honestly doesn't seem like a Titan skill in the first place. Maybe replace the regen with just a shield.) 3. Not having the ability to have the bigger explosions and the health regen. Just one at a time. 4. Have the explosion only do 75% damage while a direct hammer will still kill a player. Honestly I think any of those tweaks would be reasonable. It's crazy how that Subclass went through production without the team realizing how strong it is

    I think the cauterize perk should maybe be changed to a stackable effect, so that it's still effective in PvE and not so op in PvP [spoiler]Essentially, if you only get one kill (which is mostly what happens --per hammer--), your regen is much slower. However, if you kill multiple enemies (like a group of thrall or acolytes) your regen will be the same or better.[/spoiler]

    • Boost high impact snipers and golden gun's damage. Warlocks with radiance can also have the same amour as a sunbreaker.

    • A little less armor and cauterize only heals a small portion of your early after each kill would be nice.

    • Remove grenades and horsehoes like effect I think (I main Titan) if the accuracy is reduced I think it would be harder to hit out of the air which I believe is the main problem.

    • Either the armor needs to be nerfed or the other subclasses should have some sort of buff. I personally think if you're in a super, you should be able to survive a shotgun shot or a head shot by a sniper. So it seems to me that the other subclasses should have some sort of armor buff. But they shouldn't survive a Golden Gun shot, that part is bullsh*t.

      I have mained a Titan since Alpha. Here are my impressions of Sunbreakers in PVP. 1) It's our only range/movable special that we have. The new implementation was going to have implications and changes both in PVP and PVE. My recommendations are small changes so they. Can bring balance in PVP but do not affect PVE. 2) if I can one hit a gunslinger with a hammer a gunslinger should one shot me with a shot. It's that simple. I don't mind a slight nerf to the armor so this change can get implemented. 3) Snipers: if snipers and shotguns can one shot ANY other class while their super is active then it is fair that Sunbreakers Titan SHOULD be one shot the same way while Hammer of Sol is active. 4) Numbers of hammers: Do not nerf. Now hear me out, if you hear a hammer clank and you are in a pile with 4 other people and you don't move you all deserve to die. Period. Sunbreaker Titans are EASILY countered in an OPEN SPACE. 2 people can EASILY take a Sunbreaker with Hammer of Sol active by just jumping around and shooting at him. We are VERY effective in closed environments but weak in open field. 5) If you are going to nerf hammer of sol duration YOU HAVE to nerf Stormcaller (or whatever the new warlock special name is) duration and increase the hammer damage to compensate for the lost of hammer numbers. I've seen equal if not more people getting killed by that special than by Hammer of Sol. I am more than happy to engage in friendly and respectful conversation about the points that I mentioned above. Cheers

        • I kinda feel bad about eating a shot from golden gun but everything else is fine. I got killed by a fist of panic guy today while I was using Sunbreaker. I was proud to see someone do that

        • I think a slight armor reduction in PVP (maybe 20-30%) or a 3-4 second cooldown on cauterize would do the trick!

          • I've been a titan main since the beta. My opinion is that the damage resistance should be nerfed down to the same as a stormtrance lock. There are probably a few skill tree adjustments that should've been made before launch. If you look at the sunbreaker skill tree you will notice it has hardly any passives, almost everything revolves around the super thus making the super ridiculous. At this point tho I believe that a dmg resistance nerf is all that bungie can do.

          • [b]NO VOICE FOR THE TITANS[/b] We are the minority class and every single biased Hunter and Warlock is hating the Titans. 9 times out 10 they never been on a long run as a Titan and realize how underpowered they are. But oh! They have OP super we want a nerf. No love for Titans :( They don't realize how OP their kill feeding supers and exotics are.

            • I think it's fine as is. I get killed by, and have a harder time dealing with, Stormtrance way more than I do by Hammer of Sol. If you are at mid to long range you are hard to hit with a hammer. If you are close all you have to do is jump over their head. I've killed a number of Sunbreakers by jumping above them and unloading invective on the way down. As a possible alternative, I think it would be interesting to have suncharge be the main attack and the hammer toss be an optional ability to be selected (like Suncharge is now) that would take a little extra super to use. The main reason I picked a Titan in the beginning is because I like playing the heavily armored tank characters. I was very disappointed to find out that a max armor Titan is only slightly more durable than a Warlock (I'm not taking exotics into account on that statement) and almost unnoticeable in pvp. If it were up to me I would give Titans noticeably higher durability, change the lift ability to function more like the Cabal jumpjets (powerful but with a cooldown period between uses so Hunters can not only be the most agile but the fastest as well) to curb the effects of Titan skating, and make it so their abilities are slow but powerful (like a hammer should be) so careful use is rewarded and spamming the battlefield leads to a wasted ability.

              Nothing because it will screw it up in pve and let's be honest, the pvp in this game is Charles Barkley "turrible". And yes I come from Halo so I know how good a Bungie game should be and as far as pvp goes, and this one doesn't measure up.

            • If there should be a nerf, just end cauterize, sunspots over shield is good enough. That being said when I rock my Hunter I have no problems with them.

            • HoS at most guarantees 2 kills. Been destroying them all day in ib. It's not hard but is a lot more nervous racking dealing with than the others. I even got shut down numerous times by snipers and shadowshot Yes titan is my main class since day 1

            • Well, this wouldn't just apply to sunbreakers, but to all classes and their supers. It's not anything specific, more just general. I will probably make a future post with specifics for each subclass. Pretty much, make supers and there perks work around the classes specialty. For Titans, this would be beefing up armor, warlocks for recovery, and hunters for agility. For example, have a sun breakers base damage reduction in super be like an arc blade/ radiance. Change cauterize to something that increases armor further for while in super. For hunter supers, make it so in super they can move around the map really fast, like with quick forward dashes. And for warlocks, kills in super start health regen. Like I said, those are just basic general ideas and by no means is this exactly how it would be. They should make it so that the supers exemplify the classes' specialty while having killing potential.
