With all the Sunbreaker haters out there, I wanna see what Titan mains have to say about their subclass.
y'know, i just remembered that curiosity did kill the cat
Edit: 50+ replies, keep 'em coming! The majority of you call for a slight armor nerf so more snipers and a GG shot can one shot it, which is pretty resonable.
Edit 2: 100+ replies, let's keep going! Again, a lot of you call for the armor nerf, but I see some movement nerfs or Cauterize nerfs in there as well.
Edit 3: Over 650 replies, holy crap. Again, as usual, armor nerfs take prevalence over all other suggestions. And to all not Titan mains, please revite accurately as to not screw with the poll. I seriously doubt less than 20% of voters are not Titan mains.
Edit 4: STAP BLOWING UP MY PHONE PLZ
But seriously, I'm glad to see so many people in this usually salty as -blam!- community being so positive and having polite debates. Shows we have hope for a few more years.
Edit 5: Over 1,000 replies! Woot.
Armor takes prevalance yet again, but some more movement speed during super nerfs have popped up here and there. Keep commenting guys!

I think the hit box should be nerfed, especially at longer ranges
-
I don't really main any class but I have used sunbreaker plenty in PvP. Compared to all the other supers, it has no cons, which is the problem. It has all the pros of other supers, range, duration, ammo, area of effect, tracking, max armour and health regen. All Bungie has to do is either remove the health regen, or decrease the armour buff to blade dancer level so it's atleast stoppable.
-
Give cauterize a cool down or make it only grant a portion of health back instead of regen. Boom fixed. We go down super fast if we dont manage to get kills. As long as you dont go toe to toe one on one anyway (shouldnt against any super anyway unless you got help)

Edited by Kingsleeprobert: 10/18/2015 3:40:32 AMSunbreaker nerf: Cauterize doesn't stack upon multiple kills. Why: due to experience and p.o.v this is hard to counter for regen can be almost instant comparing it to Defender's Unbreakable. Nerfing the number of hammers would really hurt sunbreaker for it has a perk that allows it to last longer by throwing more hammers. Besides, it's default limit is 3-4 hammers if not using stroke the forge and conflagration. Nerfing it's resistance is arguable but not agreeable due to consideration of other classes and their resistance. (Sunsingers, blade dancers, etc) Nerfing it's mobility is really out of the question. Nerfing it's range is definitely out of the question. It's not bad if you compare it to the warlock's subclasses and Hunter's subclasses. FYI: Titans never had a health regen perk until now, only resistance and overshield.
-
It should last longer, deal more damage, have more armor, have more hammers, hammers need a bigger blast radius, and extremely aggressive tracking on hammers
-
I'd be happy with a slight armor reduction , nothing too overboard
-
Reduce the damage reduction by 15% and I'll be a happy camper.
-
Not a titan main but I think I have a pretty good solution, move damage reduction to 33% and then put forge master and cauterize in the same column, I'd say that's a pretty fair nerf
-
Mained Titan since day 1 and always will, I love my Titan, but I honestly think Sunbreaker could stand an armor nerf, but just enough to be killed by GG or a high impact sniper headshot.
-
Nerf armor to match that of a blade dancer and sunsinger and that's it.
-
You simply can't give the SB a little nerf. It either doesn't get nerfed, or it gets a huge overhaul. If you nerf HoS then this class will be useless in both PvE and PvP. It may need some tweeking, (i personally feel that stormcaller is every nit as powerful). But, to do so would require a reworking of the other talents in the tree, since it focuses so heavily on the super alone.
-
Nerf how much damage reduction we get to be on par with Bladedancers. Cauterize should stay unchanged, as it is nearly the same as Hungering Blade from the Bladedancer subclass. But, if Cauterize were to be nerfed, it should be to make it so that only super kills trigger it.
-
A little nerf. Remove cauterize from working with hammer kills, that what makes them feel unstoppable
-
Either remove healing or make healing only work against PvE enemies. I may be a Hunter main but I use all three classes a lot even though the bubble butt is the way to go for Titan
-
Nothing The stronger warlocks and hunters will adapt sooner or later and they will find the weaknesses of the sunbreakers Nothing is Invincible The stronger will rise and the scrubs will cry nerf.
-
Drop the armor from a 55% reduction to a 50% reduction. It'll allow high impact rifles to one shot a hammer.
-
They shouldn't have so much armor when in super mode, especially considering how much damage they do with one hammer.
-
I main a Hunter and I think Sunbreaker should stay as it is.

Edited by Socialice: 10/18/2015 3:18:49 AMThis debate is sickening to see so many people complain about it. Here are some facts, read closely so you don't make stupid replies. 1. Damage reduction while in super is the same as Stormtrance - the difference is how I build my subclass, it's easier for Titan to build full armor than warlock as warlocks are based on recovery Titans are based on what? Yup, armor. If I don't spec full armor by CHOICE I can be OHK by GG and snipers. Key here is its my CHOICE. 2. 5 hammers isn't unreasonable, most of the maps are large and rarely do I kill someone with each hammer. A Titan using hammer to control a point or to take heavy is a smart Titan, it's where multiple people gather in one spot. You can't tell me your team hasn't been decimated by a void bomb or a GG explosion because you were all huddled at the heavy box. I know, I use the explosive perk when I run GG and it does wonders for those multi kills. 3. I told my wife the different classes and there abilities, and not knowing destiny she said "Then why do people pick the shitty classes." The point is I shouldn't be nerfed based on how I choose to spec and my timing of my super because you get salty for dying. Change your gameplay, don't huddle on heavy for 14 seconds while the timer counts down and be mindful when taking an objective. If you hear that ping, don't stand and wait to be hit, hide until it's clear, or gain the advantage by going airborne. Edit: inb4 "lost credibility on 3". It was a joke lighten up.
-
The armor is a bit too strong. Otherwise I don't get many more kills per super than with Golden Gun or Arc Blade
-
Me if they nerf it hunters will go on to cry about fist of havoc. Oh and no back up plans defenders.

Edited by Sherpa: 10/18/2015 4:04:11 AMI do not main a Titan (Hunter main) but I think the class needs a general buff. The super is the only thing it has going for it. Nerf it's armor slightly so that high impact snipers/GG kill it (OR BUFF GG/SNIPERS PRECISION MULTIPLIER) Buff it's grenades / melees Rework some perks so the class is good all around not just in super. Ideas: create a flame burst on melee charge that has some range to it and stuns an enemies abilities (grenades and melee in pvp. All PvE enemy abilities) Enhanced grenade perk - • gives incendiary grenades bigger blast radius and slows the targets affected by the burn. • gives fusion grenades a bigger blast radius and burn/mark enemies damaged by the blast (still kills the enemies it sticks too). • gives thermite grenades a bigger radius (equivalent of the razors edge width) and longer range. Increase armor / recovery with precision shots stacks up to 3x (equivalent to gunslingers reload/stability perks) Also increase the hammers damage so it's more useful against majors in PvE and shielded enemies in PvP Just some things to make the class better overall
-
Nothing should be done. NOT EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME REVOLVES AROUND PVP.
-
Really the only thing that need to be changed is the Area of Effect of the hammer itself. It can be a little ridiculous to see people die about what I imagine to be three feet from where the hammer actually hits.
-
Lower the armor so people don't lose there minds at not being able to kill us and tighten the proximity of the hammers. Maybe 1 less hammer but raise overall damage to make up for it.
-
Change cauterize somehow.
