With all the Sunbreaker haters out there, I wanna see what Titan mains have to say about their subclass.
y'know, i just remembered that curiosity did kill the cat
Edit: 50+ replies, keep 'em coming! The majority of you call for a slight armor nerf so more snipers and a GG shot can one shot it, which is pretty resonable.
Edit 2: 100+ replies, let's keep going! Again, a lot of you call for the armor nerf, but I see some movement nerfs or Cauterize nerfs in there as well.
Edit 3: Over 650 replies, holy crap. Again, as usual, armor nerfs take prevalence over all other suggestions. And to all not Titan mains, please revite accurately as to not screw with the poll. I seriously doubt less than 20% of voters are not Titan mains.
Edit 4: STAP BLOWING UP MY PHONE PLZ
But seriously, I'm glad to see so many people in this usually salty as -blam!- community being so positive and having polite debates. Shows we have hope for a few more years.
Edit 5: Over 1,000 replies! Woot.
Armor takes prevalance yet again, but some more movement speed during super nerfs have popped up here and there. Keep commenting guys!

I mained a Titan for the first year of Destiny, but played both other classes, too. So I do know the differences between each. From my experience fighting Sunbreakers and from my friends that use them, there're a few things that could be done to bring it back in line with the other subclasses. 1. a) Health Regeneration should refill the their health bar a lot slower than it currently does. This would effectively make the Titan think about where he's going, how many enemies there are and if there's any cover. As it stands, they currently have little to no regard for their safety or health because one HoS will fully heal them from any damage taken. 1. b) I've seen people complain that the Cauterise perk giving them full health on everything, including melee. This shouldn't be changed in my opinion. Titans have the shortest range melee as it is, regeneration of health after a melee kill is perfectly acceptable taking into account the other classes melees and melee perks. 2. The amount of damage resistance they have whilst in their Super is more than any other class. Mix that with the health regeneration after a kill and you've got a massively over-powered opponent considering how easy it is to get a kill with HoS. Damage resistance should be reduced, even if this is the only thing that happens. I can deal with the health regen if I had a chance at killing him before or after he kills. (What I'm proposing for 3 is either one to be fully addressed, or a mix of them) 3. a) "The amount of Hammers they can throw seems unfair compared to Golden Gun", now I can understand why some people are saying this, but I don't agree with them. The difference is that GG is an instant hit-scan shot that can be done from a huge distance pretty easily. HoS require the user to at least aim and throw the Hammer in the general direction. 3. b) The problem with the Hammer after it has been thrown is that it has a proximity detonation, which can be used in conjunction with tracking. I think only one should be enabled at any one time, or the proximity needs to be lowered (there have been times that I've managed to evade a HoS user, only for his Hammer to come flying past the object I've ran behind, exploding due to proximity and killing me. You don't see GG shots going around corners, or Stormcaller Lightning going around corners directly (if the Lightning chains from another player, that doesn't count)) 3. c) In order to separate HoS from GG, the Hammers could be made so that they're not so easy to throw at a large distance. The arc could be harder to judge, or possible have them do less damage at large distances. Now, these are just suggestions. I'm not asking for a nerf, but if one happens, I'd like for some of these points to be taken into consideration. If you have anything to add, feel free to comment. If you disagree, again, feel free to comment which part you disagree with and why.

Edited by SpaghettiMonster: 10/18/2015 8:02:52 AMThe reason we can tank snipers and golden gun is because we have more base health than others, our resistance is the same as Bladedancer. Soooo, nothing should be done, Titans are finally putting their tank status to good use. Maybe take off the hammer tracking (grenades and horseshoes for hammers is a bit op I admit) but other than that all is good. Also I shut down about 7/10 Hammers I see
-
3 hammers, no Health Regen, no armor. Bam. Now you've got golden gun.
-
Reduce max subclass armor by 3% now get laden guns can one shot all sunbreakers not the armor you are using is being reduced but subclass max armor rating
-
If they could just decrease the duration in PvP everything would be cool.
-
I think if the armour is brought down to what blade dancers is, then this could be acceptable ?
-
I don't think they should nerf the amount of hammers but the damage resistance or the splash damage needs a nerf
-
It takes 3 sword hits to kill a sunbreaker. Idk if that fair or not but i was just curious what other people think. (Im probably never going to get the chance to get a sword kill on a sunbreaker again anyways)
-
I think I'm the only hunter who thinks sunbreaker is fine the way it is.
-
Not a titan main but they should just nerf the damage resistance they shouldn't be able to tank golden gun shots and it is nearly impossible to kill them with a normal gun
-
Nerf damage resistance to 50%.
-
It needs 3 hammers that do double damage. That would make it a slightly worse GG with super armor, fair trade off.
-
80% main a Titan... Seems legit lol
-
I finally got back on some PvP to rank up with Iron Banner. It was the first time I encountered a Sunbreaker. Couldn't snipe them. GG didn't kill them. A freakin machine gun didn't kill them (I prefer machine guns over rockets, so I don't know how those do against them.) It took several teammates firing at once on a guy just to bring him down. I main a Hunter. Personally, the super is awesome. They've needed an actual offensive super with range and mobility; however, I think just a slight nerf would be fair. I don't know any other super that has that much defense except....oh, the other Titan super, FoH (with Unstoppable equipped). I honestly think the armor buff is excessive, but I don't wanna see Bungie nerf it into the ground. Remember the Ram helmet? It was ridiculous and needed attention. This is kinda the same.
-
Probably take the DR from 50% down to 35% cos im pretty much unstoppable.
-
Slight armor nerf so we can see the nerf bitching won't ever stop until hunters are invincible and have super at all times.
-
It could use a slight armor reduction. Everything else is fine.
-
The only thing that needs to be changed is the position of perks on the skill tree. Swap the following: Cauterize for sun charge and scorched earth for fire keeper ( now you have an option between more hammers, over shield while in sunspots, and, healing on kills. You can no longer use 2 of the three at the same time)
-
I don't use Sunbreaker so doesn't matter to me. Defender all the way.
-
Less armour.
-
Reduce armour to the point where GG or a sniper rifle headshot can kill you. I'm talking about LDR / 1000 Yard Stare archetype. And this is coming from a Titan main. Check my stats if you don't believe me.
-
- First of all, a high impact sniper should be able to one shot headshot. -Cauterize should be basically the same except the health regeneration isn't as instant -Reduced splash damage
-
Little nerf, a think a little less health, or you could nake it so the titans timer runs out a but faster with the extended hammers perk and perhaps hammers take more of your bar, not a gigantic nerf but one thats noticable
-
Oh wow. 80% of the community main a Titan.
-
Edited by cig smoking tgirl: 10/18/2015 6:13:36 AMSmall nerf to armor that could let it be one shotted by snipers such as 1000YS.
-
It's fine at least let Titans get the spotlight honestly hunters are to OP
