Like the title states, I'd like to petition Bungie to resolve our concerns with the issue of micro-transactions. I think the best approach to fixing this mess is for Bungie to add a legally binding permanent clause to their EULA that guarantees they are never going to go beyond cosmetic stuff with their micro-transactions.

I think its only fair and Bungie has nothing to worry about since they have already stated publicly that they are going to feature only cosmetic stuff and emotes. This is just the way of making it official and trustworthy. (Feel free to add your thoughts on the matter and bump it to keep it relevant)

Not going to happen. Unfortunately, EULA's are drafted to protect the company for liability and they are not going to build in something in the EULA/T&C's that may expose them to legal liability down the road if they DO decide to make the business decision to sell items NOT cosmetic in nature. It is just unrealistic to think that Bungie would do that. The best way to handle this situation is that if they offer more than cosmetic items, vote with your wallet. Quit the game and do not support them financially. On a small scale, it won't make a difference, but if enough people stick together and do this, it will hurt their bottom line and they will be forced to alter their stance. Or the game will die. Either way.
