Supers in Destiny: The current state of what's overpowered.

Ahh the wonderful world of Destiny, where Titans run around acting like Thor when he's pissed off, kicking ass in the crucible by throwing their toys around. Warlocks acting like the Emperor from Star Wars, floating around graciously sizzling this shit out of every enemy that gets in their way. And the Hunters, who run around like Jennifer Lawrence spearing guardians with their broken arrows. All of which, have been called "Overpowered". But, as is always the way with this community, we often stick to one specific class. Our 'Main' class if you like. We never call our own class overpowered, we simply exploit our own broken classes for as long as we can until something gets nerfed. Warlocks, this doesn't really concern you, as from what I can see and from what I've been reading on the forums for the last month or so, your 'Super' is not as overpowered as the remaining classes. Hunters, we (yes, I'm a Hunter) rant on about how overpowered the Hammer of Sol is, even after the recent patch. Often, real life arguments break out regarding the differences between the two classes. The Nightstalker is undoubtedly broken. It's no meant to act and play the way it does now. Unlimited arrows? This is not an in-game mechanic, this is a loophole which many Hunters have been exploiting, and more and more people are noticing (specifically in PVP games). Yet, we never make posts regarding how our own Super is awfully overpowered... Titans, you old dogs you. You run around the Crucible maps waiting for your supers to charge up, then as soon as that pretty yellow bar becomes charged you find a bunch of guardians and go full Bob The Builder on their shit. Then, you can often hear the faint cry of a sad, broken guardian. You guys are the lucky ones. Not only do you have a very powerful Super to use, you're the only class of guardian who, when using the HoS, can't be one shot by a Hunters Golden Gun. Overpowered? My opinion is yes, but only slightly overpowered. (I'm now waiting for a Titan player to jump on this post and say "Get gud"... which, for those who fail at the English language, is spelled "Good". I can't begin to tell you how many posts have been made telling guardians to "Stop saying the HoS is overpowered!". Why do you think this is? Well, allow me to break it down for you all. (This relates to every class). Using a specific class as our 'Main Class' is the key factor. We play as a class that we know best, and feel most comfortable in the play style and unique combat mechanics of said class. We therefor, like to feel slightly more powerful above the remaining two classes, whichever they may be in your case. Hunters are generally quite bad for this. As soon as people started noticing the exploit occurring with the Nightstalker subclass we (me not included I might add) took to the forums to comment on every post titled "Nerf the Nightstalker" to tell people to leave it alone... But Titans... I'm afraid you take the trophy on this one. I would like to make it very clear that I'm not aiming this at every single Titan in the Destiny universe... before anyone starts crying about it. Their are a few of you who produce these comical posts telling Warlocks and Hunters to stop feeling so butt hurt about them getting smashed in the face with their hammers. But, the simple fact is the Hammer of Sol subclass is an overpowered one. If you wish to deny it, you may. But if you're going to deny it, switch to a Gunslinger Hunter and attempt to one shot a HoS Titan with your Golden Gun. Now, not only can this not be done, due to the slow fire rate of the Golden Gun a HoS Titan can throw a hammer before we line up a second shot, which we Hunters shouldn't have to do in order to take down a single guardian. The idea of the Golden Gun in the Crucible is to be able to have three shots that will, as long as your on target, one shot a guardian. No matter how high their general stats are. The ability to survive one of these shots should not be possible in a PVP match where level advantages are disabled, or even enabled for that matter. The Bottom Line: The Hunters Nightstalker subclass is currently broken, a loophole has been found that simply shouldn't exist in the game. Unfortunately, people will continue to exploit this until it inevitably gets patched. Do you remember what I said about how we like to feel more powerful? This is exactly my point, proven by the amount of bow and arrow maniacs in the Crucible. The Titans Hammer of Sol recently had a nerf. Specifically, the patch notes said (no quote) that you would be able to throw less hammers overall. Fair enough. It stopped a few angry ten year olds from crying but sadly the issue regarding health was not addressed is this patch. A HoS Titan still can't be killed by one shot from a Golden Gun, the only class and subclass combination that I know of that can survive a single shot from the Golden Gun. The Solutions: The Hunters Nightstalker Super simple needs to be fixed. We shouldn't be able to use and abuse it the way I've seen many people do. Without this loophole, the Nightstalker is a very balanced Super. The Titans Hammer of Sol still needs to be thought out more. I can't say this without making a Titan player cry but the armour bonus when using the HoS is undoubtably too high. A reduction by 10% (this percentage based on my own experience looking at the remaining health) would easily fix this. I honestly have no solution for the hammer throwing part though. Perhaps slower throw rate compensated by increased agility to make us for the time per kill loss. I would like to add that I'm not digging into a certain class, the words you have read have been of my own opinion, as are my ideas to fix what many people are calling "overpowered". Feel free to leave your comments and opinions below. Maybe even suggest your own ideas on how the issues raised should be addressed. Bungie clearly need help on how to revive their own game, so let's do the work for them and come up with intelligent ideas that they can use, from the guardians who put hours upon hours into their game. If you read all of this, I'm impressed. Low out. Edit 1: Looking into the Bungie weekly update 15/10/15 (see the news section), the Nightstalker Shadowshot will be getting its well needed nerf. As of now we do not know exactly how they will be achieving this, but I'm intrigued to see what they can come up with. Edit 2: I realise I have refrained from going into detail about the Warlocks. I've just read a number of posts on the feedback forums where the majority of people think that the Stormcaller's super ability lasts too long (even some Warlocks have admitted this). From my personal experience, I was killed by a Stormcaller Warlock. I respawned and a few moments later I was killed by the same Warlock using the same super. Please bare in mind that this occurred when playing a match on Mayhem Rumble, there was no ten second respawn delay which would have avoided being killed twice within the time of one super being active.

The only time the Stormtrance lasts too long is with an added perk that substantially increases the length of the Trance... Provided both your Grenade AND Melee are charged. Stormtrance also gets very little in the way of added armor during use, and your movement speed is slowed unless you have Ionic Blink equipped.
