As per usual, this type of chapter will be more violent than most so be warned. And all right/characters/related themes/ with Dark Souls and it's basis are owned solely by From Software and Bandai Namco, I just added something to Destiny lore to make it more heartbreaking and better
His boots landed on the soft "soil" of the Dreadnaught. He looked around at the now tattered remains of the Cabal's Beachhead as he shrugged his shoulders to shift the massive sword on his back in place. His helmet covered his face in a menaching sort of fashion that also sported a void colored feather along the side. The armor he wore seemed thin compared to other Titans but its black and purple paint job made it no less frightening and dark.
He pulled out an Auto rifle after looking around for signs of enemies and began the trek down the slope to the Mausoleum.
A short bark turned his attention back to the landing zone. His faithful companion, a grey and white wolf, trotted over to him. It's own smaller sword hung along the right side of its body and moved slightly in the invisible oxygen field that kept the wolf from suficating and floating off.
The Guardian smiled behind his helmet. "Don't worry buddy, I can't forget you."
The wolf barked once more and bolted off in a straight line to their destination.
"Sif! No fair, wait for me!!" Laughed the Guardian as he took off after the wolf as quickly as he could.
The area was oddly quiet as they chased their way through the shattered hull and into what looked like a long hallway with holes in the floor.
Sif, the wolf, stopped just before the hole and sniffed the air. His ears and hair perked on end and he growled softly. The Guardian came up beside him and scratched his ear. "You smell them don't ya?"
Sif gave a short snort in response.
The Guardian chuckled. "Yea, they do stink. He peered down the hole. The drop was not far but the area was near dark and things didn't seem right. "Hey Ciaran. See any signs of enemies directly below?"
A navy blue Ghost with golden accents and small golden light on the tips of its shell, that left slight light trails behind as it moved, appeared by the Guardians head. "How about I just shine my Light down there and you can look." It's voice was feminine and sounded rather annoyed.
"Then I wouldn't be master of the Void if I used a light to find enemies."
"Well by all means, jump and find out!"
"Alright." The Guardian hopped down into the hole followed closely by Sif.
"I didn't mean actually do it! Get back up here!"
The Guardian straightened up and looked around. The corridor had sparatic ghostly lights along the way and turned sharply to the right further down. The way backwards looked blocked off except for a small hole within the collapsed wall. "It looks fine!"
Ciaran floated down. "I know it's fine!"
"Then why look so worried?" Asked the Guardian as he moved forward.
"Because you usually end up getting yourself hurt or something, doing dumb stuff like that."
"Where's your sense of adventure?"
"It have plenty of adventure! It's just I have to worry about you a lot."
"No you don't."
"Excuse me? Your arm, mister."
"She won't fail on me now." He patted his left shoulder which was his dominant hand. "Trust me."
Sif snorted slightly as he walked ahead of the rest.
"I heard that!"
Sif stopped and looked back behind him. He cocked his head slightly and gave a blank expression.
"Don't give me that face, I know what you said."
Sif gave a soft whine of innocence and walked on.
The Guardian sighed and followed Sif as they rounded the bend which lead to a large opening leading into another larger room. In the middle of the first courtyard, a large mechanism that slowly lifted and turned made loud clunking sounds as the group walked up a set of stairs leading down a walkway to a bridge and another very large door.
The Guardian came close to the door and knocked on it gently. "Pretty thick plating..."
"We aren't cutting our way through!"
"Why not?"
"That's stupid! All we need to do is find the three Wardens!"
Sif reached his head over and chomped down on the hilt of his sword. He drew it out and gave a fighting pose.
"See?" Said the Guardian as he pointed at Sif. "Either way we have to cut something."
"You guys are hopeless." Muttered Ciaran as a loud booming yell appeared from two smaller doors beside them.
The Guardian paused and raised his left hand up to his hilt. "Are they it?"
"Lets... hope not." Said Ciaran as she dissapeared into the Guardians helmet.
Sif stood beside the Guardian and growled.
"Easy boy..." The Guardian reached down and patted the wolf's head as the doors opened.
"You ready for this, Artorias?" Said Ciaran.
"As always." He said as the familiar sound of his blade against the sheath sent his adrenaline racing.
